News if you haven\'t noticed ;)
Hi planeshifters,
Alpha Test Phase 2 is going a bit slow due to some new bugs we found on NPC AI, basically the monsters were happy to take hits without fighting back! Here (http://www.planeshift.it/pic.php?name=Fighting%20a%20clacker&pic=pix/pics/screens/shot_combat.jpg) is a shot of combat.
Apart from that we are progressing in adding content to the game. All the basic features we wanted in are ready, but we miss some more quests and npcs to have the tech demo more playable. Those will be added in the next days.
Mining is working well, you can see a shot of an enkidukai mining here (http://www.planeshift.it/pic.php?name=Mining%20for%20gold&pic=pix/pics/screens/shot_mining.jpg).
Since many of our testers are still low rank in magic, spells are just warming up, also we miss some visual effects that are under work right now. Last week we restarted recruiting for 3d and 2d departments, checking all old emails sent. There has been a good response and many prospects are working on new items to add to the tech demo. The items will be used mainly for the crafts and trades skills, plus some for quests. Crafts will be a major part of the game, but we are not sure yet how much those will be developed for the CB release. Crafting will allow players to create all items present in game, and new unique ones. The process will require to gather knowledge from libraries or NPCs, get the necessary items and tools, and practice forging. Will not be limited to weapons only, but will be extended to creation of food, potions, etc...

You just made my day - I was having problems with my ISP\'s DNS and after several dis- and reconnections I just wanted to call my ISP and tall him off big time, but then magically planeshift.it worked and *poof* great news :D

But you can\'t release before Christmas! I\'m planning on getting a new computer only after christmas, which would mean that I\'d have to watch all of you play while I can\'t... *starts to sob* it\'s not fair! *runs off crying*

It worked once again!
This is the fourth, count it... fourth time that I have gone to my girlfriend\'s for a couple of days and the PS site has been updated.
Great news, and nice to see some news.
I\'ll be at her place a lot around christmas, hopefully CB will come out, and I can get it when I get home.

I think I can see the pattern...hm... devs. post news on the last days of each month, so the next news posting will be...hm... ...Christmas... however there should be another one - about two weeks before christmas.

Go to tigerdirect.com and get another 256 MB of ram and at least a 64 mb graphics card, if not 128 MB. :P
And as for the devs, and all the contributers. Yay. :) PS looks more and more promising every time I see an update.

Yes I do, we are both too busy too often. I plan to spend a great deal of summer with her (I don\'t like summer, I think I should go overseas to have another winter each year)
Edit: It only updates when I am there for more than one day. This time it was three.

the screenshots are awsome! this update looks great.
by the way...feel free to keep putting more screenshots :)...they make me happy.
The update would make an awsome Christmas present but it would make an awsome early christmas present as well

The site redesign is spiffy. That shot of fighting has me very excited. All the background graphics look great!

My false prophecy of players actions for the first week of player actions after CB release.
Day 1:
Explore the area and see the world, getting lost at all the odd places
Day 2:
Ah I finally have a hang of this, time to kill those monsters for make myself strong! ... time passes... Ouch.. those things pack a punch I really need some weapons... WHAT they are THAT expensive?!
Day 3:
Mining practice.
Day 4:
Mining practice.
Day 5:
Mining practice.
Day 6:
Mining practice.
Day 7:
Mining finished... isn\'t it? ...leaving a store... those merchants are rip offs! I gave them all that tria and all I got to do was repair my mining tool... I guess it\'s time to mine some more.
Even those such a think will hopefully not happen it might just happen. The screenshots look great, but it seems like it\'s been said too often. er... *nods* :)

I won\'t be moving in with her for a while, hopefully the last beta will be out by then.

Wow that healing spell looks like the best thing in the world. I was exagerating a bit but it does look very cool, nice, wonderfull, all good descriptive words.

That kinda makes me wonder who you\'re sucking up to by stating that anyone who thinks it\'s a nice looking spell is sucking up, or if you\'re just looking to get into some trouble... :)
