Although this is not an in-game feature, this forum seemed the best place for this request (if wrong forum, please re-direct):
My linux distribution - Ubuntu, comes with a package manager called synaptic (front end for apt), and if there was a repository for Planeshift, it would be very beneficial. I run a couple hundred different linux apps and have never found a distribution or setup that has enabled me to run Planeshift in linux (either from manually compiling molecular blue and all deps, to linux binaries provided by the development team).
I logged on to Planeshift half a dozen times a long time ago (only in windows), and was suitable impressed with what I would consider to be the most advance open-source game there is. Seeing as debian based distributions are normally all encompassing, this would be a great game to include as an option for distribution. If not something as large as that scope, just some deb files or a repository mainted by the planeshift team would be useful to Ubuntu users (and other debian distros). Thanks ahead of time for the consideration. This request is in regards to the upcoming Crystal Blue release and any other stable releases in the future.

No it isn\'t.
People will want stable releases to play. CVS can be buggy.

I also think it\'d be great if there\'d be a Debian repository (doesn\'t have to be specificly Ubuntu since Ubuntu is Debian plus a few extra packages) for PlaneShift. It wouldn\'t be that hard to maintain and certainly would make the install process much easier. :)
While we\'re on the subject, why not make .rpms as well? Those poor misguided souls running Fedora should also have the same options... ;)

rpm already exist but... they are strange : only 2Mb for MB ... really strange...
finally I find this idea interesting but if ps comes on a aptget server please send us the adress of the server cause when you have a sarge...

I thought the RPM was a little small too, except for the compile time, gentoo is great for this, maybe a package can be made by a third party to make sure it works. To my beleif I don\'t think this version of the PS linux binaries are maintianed.

Or you could find yourself some web space and make your own binaries if it concerns you so much. Although for you to do this the devs should probably release a stable (and static) version of the source every so often.
