What does fatique means?
(or fatigue)
When you look at this pic: http://www.planeshift.it/pic.php?name=Fighting%20a%20clacker&pic=pix/pics/screens/shot_combat.jpg
Its below mana.
Dictonary could not help me :(
I also did a search on this forum but couldnt find it :/

You know what stamina is? It\'s almost the same thing
-
oww..
so it\'s for skills etc?
thanks :)

Uhhm, no.
In dutch it is \'vermoeidheid\'.
-
Fatigue/stamina is the amount of energy the body has. The more tired out you are, the less fatigue you have left.
-
ahhh...
thanks.
vermoeidheid...
so when you run this will become more?
-
isn\'t Fatigue the opposite of stamina then?
like fatigue is normally at 0% and the more tired you grow the more fatigue you get?
-
Well, so is it.
But in MW for example it was also called fatigue but it usually was on 100%
-
since fatique is 100% in the PS screenshot, it is also the opposite in PS I think. Thats kinda strange :S
-
In general, in most RPGs, the bar starts full to show you have maximum energy and the more things you do the lower the bar goes.
I think that came from the fact that people like to feel like their stats are full not empty.

maybe..
but it\'s still strange :/
Call it stamina than but not fatique :)

I suppose \'fatigue\' is a funny way to put it when it\'s best at 100%... considering that your amount of fatigue is how tired you are, which the lower it is the better. Well whatever :P

fa?tigue( P ) Pronunciation Key (f-tg)
noun
1.) Physical or mental weariness resulting from exertion.
2.) Something, such as tiring effort or activity, that causes weariness: the fatigue of a long hike.
3.) Physiology. The decreased capacity or complete inability of an organism, an organ, or a part to function normally because of excessive stimulation or prolonged exertion.
4.)The weakening or failure of a material, such as metal or wood, resulting from prolonged stress.
5.) Manual or menial labor, such as barracks cleaning, assigned to soldiers.
fatigues Clothing worn by military personnel for labor or for field duty.
EDIT: Added: I think the fatigue Planeshift uses is definition #1 and/or #2 and/or #3.

you SOOOOOOOOO got that off of http://www.dictionary.com .
-
yup...I think he didn\'t get a word back because he used fatique instead of fatigue, he used a Q instead of G, but I don\'t blame him, I probably would have made the same mistake...
-
Well, for someone who doesn\'t speak English for their first language, thats an honest mistake.
-
There was another thread somewhere, wishlis I believe, where I pointed out that unless that bar is empty to begin with, it is poorly named.
I was going to point this error out here, but Madouc realised it before I had a chance.
I think Stamina/Energy are much more appropriate names, unless the bar builds up as you exert yourself instead of diminishing.
-
I beleive that the descrpancy in naming of Fatigue lies in the developers desire to show how much fatigue you can still receive or take. Much like in some older games that showd not how much life you had remaining but how much damage you had received.
I do agree though: it is backwards IMO.

Actually.. At this time, stamina / fatigue isn\'t implemented. That is simply a dummy placeholder

It\'ll be implemented as soon as it\'s done. I thought people had learned already that there are no deadlins in PS, and you\'ll never, no matter how frequently you ask, get told when something is done.

Just hopeing that you knew... :(
