The size of cb seems to be 186.30 Mb for the 0.3.002...
If it\'s not that please developpers answer to this post its extremly important. Somebody is broadcasting this release of cb and I\'m affraid it could be a virus. I wanna warn the community.

And btw the client is useless without a server :)

Tell us who is broadcasting this file, and where. CB is definitely larger than 180mb (with Art files, anyway).

No, pre-update that is the correct size. Actually, I guess you are correct then, since that would be without art.

I wont give you the address where I found it. I gave the address to androgos. I think he\'ll do what he has to do.
PLEASE ALL : EVERYBODY ARE WAITING FOR THE UPDATE !!! DONT THINK THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO DOWNLOAD IT BUT THE OFFICIAL SERVER. THE HACKERS ARE MAYBE WAITING FOR US.
and even if you have cb... if you don\'t have a login... you can\'t play !

if someone hacked the client they can get the server client as well i\'d assume. start there own server and look at how everything works, no big deal

there are commits to the CVS at the moment, i think if you download this version, a) you have no server, b) it seems that you have no art, or not all art and c) as soon as CB is out you will have some bugs our you even cant connect...

you should download PlaneShift only for the official main site when it will be available. Any executable that you download from the net can easily contain a virus or a trojan program. The rule is valid for any software. One of the reasons for virus spreading so fast these days are the number of P2P applications that download virus injected programs. The internal updates of PlaneShift executable are quite fast at the moment since we are still fixing bugs, this means that any exe you may find is most probably a fake or anyway out of date

Yea, Talad is right. Do only the client download off the official site. Since you guys can\'t answer the release date, when will migration of characters be going on?

strange... I was sure I send a mp to androgos ! I tried to contact osy too maybe I forgot to send the mp (I was busy...). Now I lost the address (I copy the edonkey address to send the address to androgos but if I forgot to send it... I lost it)
It was an edonkey address. I was on emule and searched for planeshift (just looking what\'s about ps on emule). I\'m saying that cause since yesterday the guy who broadcasts the cb release don\'t broadcast it anymore (there was only one person who send the release so maybe will he keep broadcasting it later...).
So the warning is still alive...

Only thing I saw on emule was the 0.2100 release or whatever the last MB release was, but no cb.
Maybe he just accidentaly changed the name of the MB client, or it was just a joke, or you\'re a liar :P

While the file mentioned looks like a pre-release version, that copy of PS isn\'t going to be very useful because it\'s probably outdated. I say... With the MB server being taken down and a proper CB release along on the way there is truly no need to get overly enthusiastic. It\'ll be released when it\'s done! And the official website will be the most reliable place to get it.

What is his reason to lie? I believe he started this thread to warn those that might think about downloading CB from other than the official site. It is a valid warning even if he had not seen a file. I salute fken, who was trying to be a good PSer and friend by alerting others to a potential danger.
On another note wouldn\'t it also be safe to download CB from sourceforge once it is released? or will it only be available at the main PS site for a while?

I\'m pretty sure there will be mirrors. So don\'t worry about it.

I wouldn\'t be suprised if the homepages just links to sourceforge for a while. The rush of people downloading cb would certainly take down the planeshift.it server, but it would be much harder (has this ever hapened before?) to take down all sourceforge\'s mirrors, which all have gigabits of bandwith. Bittorent with a torrent posted on the main page could also be used just in case, but the initial seeders would be flooded. I guess if we managed to take down the sourceforge mirrors we\'d at least get some publicity !
The \"CB\" file on emule is probably one of four things:
a) Virus/adware/illegal stuff etc
b) total hoax, 100MB of random numbers
c)Nearly total hoax, MB renamed
d)recent cvs build, minus art. I would not be suprised if this was almost identical to the final release, without the art.
Of all of these c) is the most likely, as warez pplz probably couldn\'t manage a cvs :]

a liar ! me ? Please before posting for nothing don\'t forget to think about what you say ! I know there\'s no CB client on emule now ! Eh ! Please don\'t forget I wouldn\'t tell where I fund it ! And when I told you I fund this it\'s just because the broadcaster stop sending it... but why does he stop sending it ?
And why would I lie ? Personaly I think that as the one who post I\'m a liar doesn\'t tell us something useful, it means they just want to see their post counter growing up... because when you are intelligent, you don\'t accuse without knowing and you don\'t post without telling something usefull.
It was a .exe file so I don\'t think it was a cvs. A virus... that\'s strange cause it\'s the first virus of 186Mo I fund... Then I can\'t understand why some people send planeshift on edonkey... In fact, I think it could be a cb tester who didn\'t respect the nda or if there is no release of 186Mo a joke or a kind of virus...
Finally I\'m sure there will be another \"cb release\" on emule. Don\'t download it there\'s no advantage to do it !

PS : as you can see I\'m pretty angry when you say I\'m a liar. I really support Planeshift and want to help this community ! I don\'t want to annoy the ps dev/admin/mod cause I really respect their job !!!

The only reason why I posted that you were I liar was because all your evidence had mysteriously diapered when people asked for it, also when someone asks for something that could prove your innocence you avoided the topic. I am just accusing you because of lack of evidence to prove your point, I will be happy to be proven wrong when I see something that proves your point.
And on another note I don?t care about my post counter people that do just want it to rise so they can feel superior over other people.

I dunno how edonkey/emule works but yesterday when I entered planeshift I had 33 entries late at night I had 32entries and now 30 entries. I believed edonkey server update its list...
My search was \"planeshift\" and I fund a cb release of almost 186 Mb (the release was something like 0.3.0.2) I cant tell you more. In fact I was sure I send an mp to androgos so I don\'t write the edonkey address somewhere... but I ask emule to download it before thinking it could be a virus and stop downloading... Maybe is it a log somewhere...
And I\'m sorry to report you that but this is you who must prove your accusation not me who must prove Im innocent : when somebody is accused, he is innocent until people prove his guilty !!!
