My friend who wants to join the PS froums says he cant join Because he gets this:
\'\'Warning: Unknown(): Your script possibly relies on a session side-effect which existed until PHP 4.2.3. Please be advised that the session extension does not consider global variables as a source of data, unless register_globals is enabled. You can disable this functionality and this warning by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off, respectively. in Unknown on line 0\'\'
PS. He is from India, if that helps ?(
Any ideas what it is?
-
Umm. Maybe the forum program is racist :P
I have no idea but what browser is he using?
-
That seems quite strange.
What browser and version are you using, under what os ?
Thanks
-
He says he is useing aol 9.0 security edition.
OS:
Sony Vaio
Pentuim 4
2.39 Ghz

Just get firefox, it will solve the problem and more besides.
I have no experience with AOL (being a new zealander) so can\'t help you with it.
-
I wouldn\'t be surprised if FireFox wouldn\'t work with AOL the way AOL is going....

He lives in india, and he has AOL? Gee, I thought only americans were that lucky. Anyway, tell him to just use internet explorer, or tell him to download FireFox ( http://www.mozilla.com/firefox ). Anything made by AOL is bad, and shouldn\'t be trusted. It\'ll only cause you more pain than pleasure. Tell him that too. And tell him to get a new ISP... AOL... Pff...

Bwahahaha! Are you seriously suggesting that Microtheft is any better than AOL?!? Talk about switching one evil for another... :P
Seriously, I have had this error once, but I don\'t know what I did to get rid of it. :( Can\'t have been too hard, otherwise I\'d remember. It might simply be that your friend\'s browser didn\'t accept the cookie that the forum uses. Yeah, sounds like it (security edition reinforces this opinion). While it is generally a good idea to not accept cookies, in the case of forums it\'s a necessary evil. Luckily, you can selectively block cookies in modern browsers.
