That would be really kool to have haunted area\'s. Like a haunted mansion or a home that players can go in and actully get scared and have attacking ghost of kids and other monsters that will make u crap ur pants, and sprits.

Maybe it would be a better idea if there were places in the game where if you died, the spirit energy around the place was high enough to where you could commicate with the living and try to scare them and such. That would be really funny IMO.

I would actually like a \"freakout meter\" like in some game I forgot the name of :P
If youre brave then you get scared less and if you\'re in a party you get scared less. But if you ar a cowardly theif, dont go in a dark cave at night :)

I think that falls under role-planing, Goodmaster Aduro. How can you overcome your fears or weaknesses if they are hardwired into the game?

Why not some places that had some pain-place with scary ghost at some time or random just to keep the bad surrounding of that place... 8o
Some haunted story that NPC\'s tells then he advertise about the u shouldn\'t go there, some torture chamber, with kid\'s ghosts runnig around into the torture objects, so scary huh !? :]
I see it can be implemented in the PlaneShift\'s world, but, is not me who descide if it\'ll be add or not, so, it\'s just my opnion... :tongue:

Interesting idea. Maybe these places could just have a \"spooky\" look?
If we implemented ghosts / spirits, then they\'d need to have some effect, though, if they are supposed to have some effect (like cold touch, hiding / displacing objects / whatever).
This way, you can even live in these places if you have to, but it\'d be unnerving.
Maybe these places can even be \"sanitised\" by exorcism (would be a game event?)
Also, I think it will be those places where the DR intersects with the WOTL, i.e., where you can exit the DR or, if you\'re skilled enough, enter it without dying first (thus keeping your possessions during the visit to the DR).

Implementing areas like the ancestral tombs in Morrowind would make sense and be much like what is suggested here.
Of course that wouldn\'t have to be the ONLY haunted places.

Here\'s my input:
This idea could bring about a new job: the exorcist. They would be the only ones with the ability to actually get rid of the ghosts, and everyone else would only be able to escape from them or make them go away for a short time. I guess exorcist would be some sort of mage class that would be in either the Crystal or Dark way specialization.
Another idea for when they start adding new levels to the game would be that the lower the level, the greater the chance that you will run into ghosts at various places. The haunted houses would have the strongest ghosts, and would have some nice weapons/items in them.
But even if my ideas aren\'t great, I think that this one is.

Ah, yes.. there will always be tales of haunted areas in worlds.. and it would add quite a bit of substance..

That\'s not so much what I wanted. I mean, zombies are used so often... places can be haunted without them. Ghosts don\'t need to be physical or otherwise tangible. It\'s the feel, not the MOBs that make a place haunted. I envision these places to be creepy and have MOBs that can\'t be killed, but that also don\'t do anything serious (maybe sometimes subtract one HP when a ghost passes through you, but state that the feeling was cold / whatever). If you could kill ghosts, the place wouldn\'t be haunted for a long time... It should be the ambient that makes a place haunted. Sure, there can be some conventional MOBs like skeletons or zombies, but they IMO should be very rare. It shouldn\'t be a hunting ground, but a place that is avoided. A place that\'s crowded with players hunting zombies doesn\'t feel haunted at all.

how bout throwing in some nice scary life sucking raffs or however you spell it that might have some fun wait now i fell like i\'m talking with people for ghostbusters and resident evil now........... well anyway all these ideas (and comments) sound good maybe they might do some of these (hopefully)
