Title: what's the best race for me? (and class too)
Post by: sesmi on December 24, 2004, 05:07:47 am
i am i warrior. i am pitiful at crafting skills. i like magic too. crafting skills are boring. i am a cat person. i am afraid of dogs. i like seafood. i LOVE exploring!!! i like being able to try everything. i like to have extra features. i like the wilderness. i like to make friends. i like to be powerfull. and most of all, i want to enjoy myself. :)

Hmmmm, Ynnwn would be good for you I think, or maybe an Enkidukai.

EDIT- class-wise, I\'m guessing some kind of battle monkish guy, and/or an explorer.

I dont know if this has been noticed/discussed or even if it will come to pass...but PS is going to be \"maximum realism\" and supposing you cant find gold on monsters ( which may or may not include many humanoids that may actually have some use for coin) there isnt alot of room for money making from combat, because my theory takes into account the fact that monsters wont have weapons worth tonnes to sell so craft and trade and mining is probably going to play a larger part in the game than most people think and this is a long sentence  :D

True but in the game i think i\'ll be a martal artist :)

and with that, all i need is my fists, and my skills ;)

no money needed here!! (and for food, i\'ll just kill a wild boar or something no big deal)

Like a ranger - doesnt depend on. People that can do that successfully are both skilled and cool. 8) Although sometimes anti-social  :D

that\'s not what i mean. i mean like using strategy and beating it to a pulp and intill it runs out of energy.

then i kill it and cook it over a fire.

Hmmm... how \'bout a tanner that uses magic to speed up the tanning process. You can even hunt monsters for there skin/fur :)

OCC(since this does not fit my character): Would pay highly for all n00b skins *evil grin* (especialy those that have been known to ask stupid or arogant questions)

Enkidukai written all over it.

They start with martial arts bonuses, and proficiencies in body development. Class-wise I remain supportive of the battle-monkish type. You said you like magic right? Well, IMO, this class allows for proficiencies in both magic and attacks like staffs, and martial arts, without restricting magical abilities.

PlaneShift has no classes. Only races and skills. You can specalize in any skill you want and later you can specalize in others. i.e. with one char you can start out as a magician and later change that (by practice and training) to a fighter.

Greetings,
