ok im having a problem and just wondered if anyone could help...im running a toshiba satellite laptop with pentium 4 2.4ghz with geforce 4 graphics and the planeshift character creation menu is running ridiculously slow...as in i click next and it takes 1-2 minutes for the next page to appear...its not my graphics drivers...i know that at least
-
RAM maybe?
My dad has that exact same laptop. :]
-
naw not the RAM i can run \'most\' games on it and planeshift was the the only thing running
:edit: guess i\'ll fiddle around a bit for now and hopefully not mess me comp up :P

Try using the adaptive camera in settings and set a minimum FPS and a min draw distance of about 10. You will get some bad pop up but should get a reasonable frame rate.
-
I cannot imagine that the bug is resulted by the PC Performance(especially because it is only the \"character creation menu\"). I have not such a problem with several computer-systems being much slower.
-
ok i actually managed to get into the game......but...it loads like 1 frame a minute...is there way can i get into the graphics settings without actually being ingame? (other than the pssetup)
-
with my laptop s intel graphics card i could enable st3c compression and my fps increased from 3 4 in the plaza to 17 21! the only problem is that some textures become very very dark:|
