Title: my ampersand symbol doesn't work
Post by: Kuiper7986 on December 25, 2004, 10:06:44 pm
this might sound weird but it won\'t let me shift+2 for my @ symbol when I try to put it in the login screen.

I got that problem too! Heeelp! I can\'t let planeshift go away just like that!
- It may be because I have a Belgian keyboard, not qwerty.

ctrl+alt+2
or
ctrl+altgr+0

Thanks! Ctrl+Alt 2 did it! In fact, it\'s the Alt-Gr key not working I think... when I try another character with alt-gr, it doesn\'t work, with ctr-alt it does.
You should write that up somewhere, maybe other users will have the same problem.

hmm still doesn\'t work, I\"ll try to look into it some more...

EDIT: IF anyone knows another way to get the @ symbol out, I\'d be grateful if you posted it here, thanks...

If you are unable to enter the \"@\" due to differnet keyboard layouts open the \"planeshift.cfg\" file with a text editor (file is in install directory).

Search for the line and enter your correct email adress (the one you registered after the \"=\":

Planeshift.Connection.User = xxx@yyy.de

- Save the *.cfg and go start PS!

Have fun, hope this helps a bit until the devs find the time to fix localized keyboard layouts!

In fact, it\'s an issue in Crystal Space, not in Planeshift. The AltGr key is recognized differently whatever keyboard layout you have. For now you should use the Ctrl+Alt combination instead.
