Title: unable to complete download
Post by: Myeerah on December 27, 2004, 04:26:27 am
I am unable to complete the download for the new client. I have gotten it downloaded to 137MB of 207MB then it time-outs and I get an error message. One time it skipped ahead very quickly and pretended to finish downloading. But, as I suspected, when I went to install it said some files were missing. I use Win XP, and have Cable internet. I don\'t know what else you\'d need to know. But, I would like to try this game, it seems intruiging. :) Thanks, Myeerah

Probably it\'s just clogged. You can use a download manager like GetRight, or you can try the BitTorrent download (you need a special client for that, though). See this thread for mirrors that might be faster and the BT tracker:

The servers for both the download and the PS website have gone down many times but are usually back up shortly.  You will probably do good to use a downloader that can resume stoped downloads.

I found a bittorrent downloader to be faster and better (no added spyware or anything). I found one at download.com that worked great, called azerus. Hope this helps!

Thanks for replying, Myeerah.

To anyone:  where can I get this BitTorrent client and....   what is it?

Ah, Azureus IS a BitTorrent client.  I thought BitTorrent was a program, but, as I understand it, it\'s a file-sharing system that can apparently be accessed by more than one client.  It\'s like KaZaa, but many reviews say it\'s better (VERY interesting).  Guess I should be less of a novice and go do my research before asking stupid questions....    Thanks again for the info!
