Title: Corrupted deathrealm.zip
Post by: Xen on December 27, 2004, 06:22:29 pm
I found the problem that people have with death realm but i have yet to find a way to fix it, to make sure you wont crash at death realm go to the PS folder and art/world then click deathrealm.zip if it cant open your file is corrupted and you need to make sure you dont die

i dont know if the devs already knew about this but if they didnt i hope it helps :)

Edit: i still have no luck, i got on my friends computer and tried to email the file to myself but hotmail said it had an unknown virus that could not be cleaned

I think I had the same problem, I have already posted here in the forum:

It looks like sometimes the ZIP-Files for the levels get corrupt. Planeshift stores some data in these ZIP-files, the Files are all named \"0\" (dont know what data is stored in the ZIP-files, first I thought is the calculated lightning-cache from crystal space).

Anyway, I have backup up the whole directory directly after installation and when I had the problem I simply restored the whole directory from my backup-directory...

BUT: Since the update of the planeshift-client on 26.12. the problem did not occur any more, at least I never had this problem again.  Did you try to run the planeshift-updater?

You can also try to simply reinstall planeshift, this should also help and provide the original ZIP files.

If any of the .ZIP files get corrupted, simply delete them and run the updater. It will download a working version.
