Title: can't start the client

After the Installation of crystal blue I tried to start Planeshift but the result was only an empty DOS-window that did nothing else than remaining empty .

my system:
Win 98SE
Athlon XP 2000+ on some Epox Mainboard
Geforce 4 ti 4400
edit: now there are 512 MB Ram
 
I would be very happy if someone could help me with that.

Things to try...

1) Re-install PlaneShift: Crystal Blue
2) Run updater
3) Turn all options to minimum
4) Wait untill someone else will answer in this topic :P

I have the same and on IRC I heard the upgrade would solve this. Problem is that the upgrade server is down and nobody wants to explain why...

As far as i have seen, there was a bug in the last update rendering people who updated before the server was taken down to find themselves with an unstartable PS.
My _guess_ is that it will come back up when they have found, squashed and developed a fix for the bug.

the problem i have is that i can only run it under 256 colors

but then everything is screwy so that won\'t work, and i updated my client moments before the updater went offline. and my client is still messed up :P

but try to put ur comp in 256 colors maybe i\'d help.

changing to 256 colors doesn\'t change anything. But thx for your advice.
I will just have to wait for the update server.

Hey i can log in but i cant play when i click my character it loads while its loads a thing pops up and says

sumthing unexpected happened in planeshift:Cyrstal Blue
Execption at address:00E23B6A, Exectption code:C0000005

Can u plz tell me what to do :(

Turn off the sound..oh did you try to exit death realm and you crashed by any chance?

no,probaply he just has ran the updater before they shut it down. I did that mistake myself, and i get the same message....and i bet that last time miles logged out at hydlaa plaza(;.....tell me if im frong...
