What type of spells would you like to see in the game?
I?m looking for a bit more depth, then a spell that holds the enemy.
Or a spell that heals the party? :P
Imagination and inspiration is more of what I am looking for.
And thanks for any and all ideas.

Necromancy - Undead Magic
Pyromancy - Specialize in fire spells
Chronomancy - Time controlling, portals stuff like that
Thuergist - Summoning
Sorcery - Battle Magery
Magery - All around spells
Wizardry - elemental Spells
A good variety of spells would be nice :P but spells arent all needs in a game ;)

WarLeader- I might be wrong but I think paxx meant spells that you use, not type....since they already have the azure/crystal magic ways im pretty sure that is what he meant
For Example:
Fireball-Player shoots a ball of fire at an object/person
You can change the percentage of accuracy and power, but if you put power % up your accuracy goes down
something like that, sorry if im wrong :D

Well hmmm.. Try maybe some fields such as Fire Field - Generates a wall of fire
Quickness - Increases players running speed
Gate - Creates a portal to your destination
Blindness - Blinds players view
Polymorph - Turn into an animal
Meteor Storm - Summons meteors from the sky
Hypnosis - Targets a creature to be under your command
Shrink - Decreasing players size or monster
Firewinds - Brings a swoop of firey winds

I have a battle spell. How about Globe of Death? When you cast it at someon it hits them, does horrid dmage to him, and does major dmage to the people wothin a caertain radius of the victim.

well, since PKing wil not be in the game, the spell you are thinking of Valkyr could not be used. Maybe if it did radius damage to other monsters around...
And as for the meteor storm, that has mass destruction write all over it. Imagine a person walking into a town, and casting that, or some other spell that covers a huge area. The number of dead ppl would be huge, even more if the town is a noob town :D

Some ideas for spells...
Elementali? - Gives your weapon an elemental attribute of your choice
Bladechant - Makes your weapon glows blue when someone friendly is approaching or red if some monster comes near you in a certain radius.
Shadowturn - You make absolutely no sound and gets completely invisible when in dark areas, unless you target and hit something, nothing can hit you (an invisible spell that only works in dark areas)
Shadowalk - You can move through the walls. No one will see you, just a very weird shadow moving.
Unecessary to say, but it\'s more effective on dark places.
Incorporium - High level magic that makes you possess neutral animals and walk as them.
Shadowmist - Turn everything into a black mist in a certain area. Ppl can only see others with infravision, but you can see everything regardless of having infravision or not.
Evil bliss - Target will be seen as enemy by others enemies.
Holy Call - A great bolt falls over your enemy and hit creatures near hm causing minor damage. If enemy is on the water, damage will be multiplied by 2, and everyone on the water will take half of the damage also.
Stone look - Get a greysh look, much like a Kran and get smelless and noiseless. Enemies will ignore you until spell end.
Majestia - Makes you look like someone far beyond your level, getting the appearance of wearing stronger armors and stronger weapons. You will be able for this period of time to buy itens by a much inferior price, but if you turn back into normal in the middle of the people you will permanently lose X points of charisma (or some other penalty)

TheGeneral lol that would be funny just to walk into a newbie town and cast maybe there can be a spell boundry for it where you cant cast in town

Summon Air Elemental
Summon Fire Elemental
Summon Earth elemental
Summon water elemental
Nightvision - Gives a targeted creature/player the ability to see in the dark
Sight - Gives the person to see x2 the distance the able too

Unholy Fireball-Does 3x more dmg to undead, causing some flares that spew out of the creature and do some minor dmg to the monsters around it.
Lightning Flare- releases a lightning \'fireball\' from your hand and hits a target then explodes.. if you have any thick metals .5x more dmg..
Darkness-Causes blindness to the monsters/people around you.. and limits your vision a bit to.. can be countered with ^Sight^.
Mass heal-Heals everyone in an area.. adjusts amount with each level trained..
Telekinesses-Targ appears, upon clicking an item, the items appears in your inventory... useful if you need that item BEHIND the monster..
Soul steal-Life leech..
Mind crush-Causes a massive hammer to smash the persons head.. hehe
Burning hands-In use with martial arts.. upon hitting the monster it adds fire damage and causes extensive burns.. causes some damage to player..
Metal Fists-Another martial arts spell.. makes the fists as hard as metal causing 2x more damage or so..
Fireswitch-useful for assasins and stuff... creates a magical trap, once dropped it activates it.. if someone steps on it or near it.. it causes waves of fire to burn the person to a crisp-Ripped from Diablo2 assasin =]
Camo-causes you to become invisable in forestry or grasslands..
Hunter\'s Sight-Allows you to see monsters farther and their highlighted..
_Unknown_-Basically when casted by a.. caster.. a spark emmits from your finger... when a creature is near.. that spark is transformed in to a bolt.. and poof.. the monster is electricuted..
Platique-Useful for people that need a quick kill.. it req alchemy and some other skills.. but you can create a magical bomb.. when thrown/placed/set/created/activated... it sets a \'timer\' and upon reaching 0 or whatever.. it detonates.. causing MASSIVE damage to the sorrounding areas.. fire damage is induced.. and if wet.. few electrical damage..
8o Spectral Armor 8o - When casted the bearer of the spell, is then covered in the souls of the undead.. and nothing can penetrate.. downside is the caster cannot move while all this is going on.. so basically.. a free healing period..
Firerock-A giant molton rock is created above the creature and then dropped.. ow..
Slow-Stop-Haste-Quicken- Basically the spells that speed up and slow down a creature/player/?Npc?...
The normal cures and heals.. and a few others.. Ill be adding some more later.. maybe..

Here\'s a spell I\'ve just created
Dual Nova The spell must be summoned by two people at the same time, or it won\'t work. When summoning, if the two people are invisible, they will remain invisible. After 15 seconds of charge, they will summon two big Energy Bolts (each one can set the location of one Energy Bolt. The first caster will set the first Energy Bolt, and after this, the other caster most set the location of the energy bolt in a certain Radius). The Energy Bolts will then slowly attract each other, until they collide (this may take 20 seconds...I dunno). After they collide, a great explosion will happen, massive killing small enemies and dealing great damage to medium and big enemies on the area. Exp for killed enemies is shared by the two casters (so, you will receive only half of exp but depending on which place u cast this is still a lot)
Depending on the Level of the Magic, the Radius between then will be lower/higher and the speed they collide can be lower/higher. Let\'s say in the First Level of the magic, it takes 15 seconds to cast, most be placed in a 4 meters radius, plus taking 20 seconds to collide, hitting for 100 damage monsters in 1 meter radius from the center of explosion and 50 damage monsters in 2~5 meters radius from the center.
On the next level it will take 13 seconds to cast, you will be able to put it in a 3~5 meters radius, so it can take from 15 to 25 to collide, hits 140 damage monsters in 2 meter radius from the center and 70 damage monsters in 3~6 meters from the center.
Next level takes 11 seconds to cast, you will be able to put in a 2~6 meters radius, taking up from 10 to 30 seconds to collide, causing 170 damage in monsters inside a 3 meters radius from the center, and 85 damage in monsters within 4~7 meters from the center, and so go on.

dunno a good name but spell will do this :
heats the weapon of the enemy so it cant be used for some time. Its to hot to toutch.
cant think of some others.

Dragons heart- It requires a pentagram, and 5 Gm mages, but upon casting, and possesing the 5 required elements, dragons blood, dragons scales, dragons bone, dragons claws, dragons soul. A huge explosion is created damageing EVERYTHING in the area includeing the castsers.. thus requireing that they have some hitpoints or some defense from fire.. but once casted, and explosion has happends, something called a dragons heart is created, and once possesed it gives the user the abilitys of the dragons (Ie flying, fire breath, sharp claws, thick skins, and dragons soul).

Well i have got plenty if u want some i am a major D&D and AD&D player and i am a Dungeon Master i got almost all the books if u want me to i could tell u what the spells do and maybe even the name and u could rename them and stuff but i think it would be wrong to take the name of thier spells it might be illegal or something but i can write down some if u want but i am sure u can go out and get a book or 5 or how many u need so i dont have to write them down. here r a few.
Armor:creates a field of force arround the caster with the same armor class of scale mail
Shocking grasp:when the caster touches a creature while this is in efect it will inflict an electrical charge.
Agannazar\'s scorcher:when casted a jet of flame forms at casters fingertips and hits the target the caster aims at.
Web:caster picks area he wants to cast this spell and when casted a sticky web falls over the ground and holds enemies.
FireBall:i think everyone knows what this one does
IceLance:This spell fires a magical, ice, lance at the casters target.
Burning Blood:this spell turns a targets blood to flame and, well injures him.
Shroud of flame:this spell makes the casters target turn burst into flames and if u want can inflict a radius thats what it is supposed to be.
Finger of death:caster points his finger at a target and unless they can save them selves like a saving throw or something they die or a major amount of life is takin out of them.
and maybe even some summon spells if u want but i hope what i have done there maybe will help a little i could give u some more ideas about defensive spells to if u want i got a lot more to much to write down.

Spells/skills:
Holy wings: Wings grow out of a person\'s back and it allows them to fly for a short period of time (maybe extended jump)
WallClimb: Allows a rogue or someone to climb walls for a period of time. This way they can escape from mobs that are roaming around.
Divine Hope: This summons a very weak, low hp pet who will agro anything attacking the caster. The whole point is to give the caster precious seconds to evade, but doesn\'t last long and the creature dies within 10 or 20 seconds no matter if it was hit or not.
Black Heart: Makes a mob that usually wouldn\'t agro on anyone go rabid for a set period of time. Downside is it instantly agros on the caster, but will stop attacking him as soon as some other person/creature gets closer (so the person runs by another creature/person and the mob latches on the new person/creature). This can be exploited, but is only for evil people anyways :)
Fish Gills: Physically transforms a person slightly into a fish. They gain gills, toes and hands web, face changes (eyes on side of head and get goggle vision). Effect: can breathe under water for a period.
Blend In: The caster transform self (maybe only in the eyes of the mob) into a mob (though keeps same powers and is just an illusion). Example: There is a cavern of Kobolds. They\'ll agro on anyone. The caster turns himself into a kobold and can go into the cavern without being attacked. If he attacks anyone or casts a spell the illussion breaks and is agroed.
Bloodlust: A warrior/etc. goes into a blind rage. They attack with increases to attack skill and str, but major damage to defense/dex/agil.
Windfall: Quick cast that moves a person/group several hundred yards away as a safety measure. Random movement and must be outdoors (seen in other games, but a good idea).
GoldLust: If cast on a mob the coin that the mob would drop increases, but the mob also gains hp or maybe is more agressive. (A trade off for more gold :D ).
Wolf Smell: Sort of like a tracking mech, but only works outdoors. (If they get to the point of goin\' into detail with wind...the mob has to be upwind (that is to say that the person can \"smell them\")). This increases the detectability of a mob. Lets say a person uses skill, a list of mobs within a certain radius are shown and what direction.
Diplomacy: With semi-intelligent beings. This allows a person casting the spell to bribe a mob (depending on their level or skill determines not only how much, but how effective). If successful it will take gold from the caster, but will lower the agro of the mob (as long as it hasn\'t been attacked (it is okay if it is attacking the group and no one has harmed it)).
Echo: This spell will confuse a mob by makin\' it see two of a person. One in front of it, for example, and another behind it. There is a fifty-fifty chance it\'ll attack the illusion (which will disappear after contact). This will allow the caster time to run.
(Why so much about casters running?...lets face it...seconds matter in all games and havin\' 3 seconds to get a head start on a mob can mean life or death without giving a huge advantage to the caster).

Oh i am sorry if i made u sick but i was just giving ideas i am going to post some that i made up though here in just a secnd but sorry if i made u sick only thing i could think of at that moment. :]

Ok here are some that i made up for my \"TFA\" game...
Blizzard:causes a massive blizzard attacks multiple enemies
Icycle: generates a large icycle and hurles it at enemy
Scatter fire: generates multiple small fireballs and it attacks multiple enemies
Tsunami: generates water and it comes crashing down on multiple enemies
Water blast: generates a beam of lukewarm water and blasts enemy
Thunder strike: calls upon lightning to make a massive bolt hit an enemy
Thunder wave: attacks multiple enemys with thunder strike
Holy blast: generates a beam of holy power and smacks enemy
Death \'n\' decay: it curses enemy and has a chance of 1 hit kill and it also reduces strength.
Gravity ball: caster casts a ball and where it lands the ball sinks into its self and creats a small black hole and the enemies are slowed or draw to it.
Black Unicorn Mist: the enemy is just engolfed in very Dark magic major damage.
i will post more only if u want me to b/c it gets old typing all this... :]
