Title: Slight problem witht the latest update ...
Post by: Darakus on January 02, 2005, 11:27:28 am
The latest update (ran it today 02 january 2005) supressed all of my fonts making it so that I do not see any words on screen anymore, neither in the updater, the login part or the ingame part thus making it hard to communicate and give commands.

The only part affected is visual, the characters are still taken into account when typed.

the latest update screwed up something,so that now i can\'t open the game nor the setup nor the updater.

it says : the dynamic link library libz.dll could not be found in the specified path c:\\giochi\\planeshift\\paneshift crystal blue;.;c:\\winnt\\system32;c:\\winnt\\system;c:\\winnt;c:\\giochi\\planeshift crystal blue;c:\\winnt\\system32;c:\\winnt;c:winnt\\system32\\wbem;c:\\program files\\ati technologie\\ati control panel

this as an error.

in the dos window there\'s the following :
  LoadLibraryEx(c:\\giochi\\planeshift\\planeshift crystal blue\\vfs.dll) error 126:
The specified module can\'t be found.
WARNING: Cuold not load plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"
couldn\'t load vfs plugin \"crystalspace.kernel.vfs\"!
ERROR: csInitializer::setupconfigmanager failed!
Is Your CRYSTAL environment variable set?
Exiting Planeshift. Press ENTER...

if none can\'t tell me i\'ll try reinstalling..but i\'d prefere to avoid it hehe

Edited for language.

The problem was a broken update, this is already fixed now - but if you have already broken your client you cannot rerun the updater...

You can try a lot workaround (temporary copying the libz-cs.dll to libz.dll and run the updater in dos-window using  UPDATER.EXE --auto).

Or you can simply uninstall, reinstall and then run the updater.

If you are using Win98 or WinME you also have to do this stuff here
