Hi back nice to see you.
Read the PlaneShift Manual (http://www.planeshift.it/guide/index.html) It will answer all.
The short answer.
Answer 1 No get more ram
Answer 2 Yes
Answer 2 Combat = Yes
Answer 1 the long explanation - Since I have a lot of spare parts kicking around I tried running planeshift in several configurations. I tried it using smaller amounts of ram. The bottom line is if you\'re using windows and you\'re using less than 512 mb and any process other than planeshift kicks on it will boot you. So, at this time I don\'t recommend ever going below 512 mb unless you\'re a really advanced user.

I usually turn of all backround processes that arn\'t needed such as Svshost. I have no trouble running THe Sims 2 and some other High Spec games so I think I wil be fine.
EDIT-I doubt that it needs 512, unless the programming is (no offense) really sloppy. I mean, by looking at it, It dosn\'t even compare to some games that only require 256, in the end,its either A-They are wrong with the RAM or B-The programming is terribly sloppy.

The programming is not sloppy, but the code is still rather unoptimised. PS uses on average around 250-300mb, and can take more if certain things are happening ingame such as lots of fighting or spellcasting.
256mb should barely scrape you through, I recon. But these days, it just doesn\'t cut it if you want decent performance. :)

ehhm, Babrook.
There is one thing with those games .
They arent MMO or if they are they arent at alpha stage whith an update system, where you cant be really sure if all players have the same.
And yes it works with 256 MB RAM,
It works on following setting pretty lag-less:
ADSL,
128 MB Graphics card (GeForce 5200),
1 GHz AMD,
one GB or so free disk space,

yeah 256 will work royaly (it does for me :D) but go ahead and get another 256 chip they are soo chep nowadays (i am so poor i can\'t even afford one at the lowered prices XP oh well)
