Please respond with your feedback.

I am going to go with unlimited. Well to a state of unlimited. Since the chars will be created will be offline, you should be able to try as many chars you want. But there should be some limit on how many you will upload to the game. To save space is all. No sense in having an account with 500 chars on it when only two are active....
-
I say three, it allows for different combos, for those who don\'t have a playing preference. And it saves space.
-
I think 1 character/Account is best. We just have to allow users to create multiple accounts. This makes it possible to trade characters between players (if you exchange the passwords)

Give them 3 per account but give them ass many accounts as they want!
-
3
-
I don\'t have a strong opinion on the final answer, but I think we ought to code it to support multiple in the messages and in the database, just because it\'s much harder to add it in later than to limit the client later to only one.
My guess is that people will find it a pain in the a$$ to remember all those account passwords if we make it 1:1 too. In the end it isn\'t going to matter too much though.

I think 3 is the best combo, but 4 or 5 would be doable. As long as a player can have fun.
I think this specific poll should be put forward toward the fans when these boards are public. let them have a say in it.
just a thought
-
i gotta say 4, seems to be a good number of them, it allows u to have some different combinations 8)
//binaryreject
-
i am gonna go with a higg number to unlimited
mainly because i remeber playing diablo and it takes awhile to get a good character that you havent messed up.......
and some people might want to have mules if it is allowed
-
i like the idea of having 1
make players think twice before they try to cheat or scam
-
how much storage room willl there be because some people like to \'mule\' there extra stuff that they want to keep but have no room for
-
I think there should be 2, it makes people really think about what they wanna be in the game, every great mmorpg has at least 2, usually a fighter and mage or sum ten :D
-
Thats a hard question to anwser. It depends if there are going to be storage banks or not. If there is going to be storage banks then 4 Characters. But if there isnt going to be a Item bank then people will just make more and more Characters to store there stuff (Mule)
Or you could have Accounts, and in the account you can make Characters (Kinda like Diablo 2) Only have 1 account but alot of characters in the account. :D
-
I\'d say 6 at most, and limit it to 1 account per player. Like Vengeance said, it\'d be a pain to remember all those account names and passwords, but a lot of people will be wanting to try out new classes and races and such. I\'m hoping we have item banks or storage of some sort, so as not to fall into the \"muling\" problem - there were players in RS with 100+ mules, and they\'d forgotten the pw\'s to some of them, so they couldn\'t be deleted. That\'s just ridiculous.
-
Yes, there will very likely be many storage areas, houses, guild halls, castles, structures, or rentable banks. The more you pay for the more you get, and if you are starting out and dont have cash you can burrow a friends house or storage facility. Well, im not sure about rentable banks or storage areas, but I know houses and guild structures will be there.
-
i think a bank account would be a great idea
but it would be for only gold and not for items
you would keep them in a storage place or at hom
-
1 would be dumb since you couldnt experiment with diffrent types of charecters and unlimated would crowd planeshift
-
so probaly 4 would be about right 8) :] 8) :]
-
you miss the 3 option.. i like 3 no more no less, but now i\'ll go for 4
-
yeah...maybe
-
I say 4! My hubby and I both play, and we both enjoy having 2 characters each. You gotta remember about us older folks that have nothing better to do then to play games :>
-
I went for unlimited just for the heck of it. I see if you cna have unlimited characters it can make your game funner. Then you can have an archer, warrior, cook ect to help your maybe one specific player.
-
As many as they want, but enforce it so that they only play 1 or 2 at the same time in game . Depending on how many people are playing too.
-
If you could have unlimited online at a time id start my own 1 person clan
-
I\'d say 3.
1 for a main and two to mess around with to see the other races.
This game doesn\'t need mules and people using other characters to cheat.
-
Yeah, i wouldnt mind have a couple different raced char\'s. I think you should be able to delete your own chars though if you want a new race or sumthin.
-
I concurr with 4 as everyone seems to be saying for the most part .
With four character slots you have enough room to mess around with create and try new characters while at the same time being able to keep exsisting special characters that you have worked on.
I do not agree with using them as mules unless there is noway of holding more thana certain amount of items hopefully that will be looked into with regards to banks and such .
Also it is my belief that people that trade characters back and forth are pond scum and leads to powergaming with no regards to roleplaying at all because everyone else is worried about the guy that has three people working on him or her and there never offline now if someone wants to be on 24/7 thats fine but it should be the same person not sharers.

-
Lenric, the fact of power gaming is a very clear one. In some cases it is an obsession (which means you just like the game a whole lot) or in other cases its to sell the character. I am not \"highly doubting\" character markets, or even doubting it at all. There is bound to be the person who starts it, then starts other people doing it. The only technical solution is to make level-achieving harder, but I think people don\'t want that.
-
Well I have games quite a bit in my mind if you say 18 or so hours a day for long periods of time and so on alot of this was due to people character sharing as i didnt wish for my character to fall back into the woodwork though I do believe that people shouldnt be allowed to sell characters i mean take this for example.
this is purely fiction
Desryn has been playing for some time now training and training his character while training he has met up with a few people and has become somewhat known for acting in certain ways nicely meanly whatever now hes lvl 60 or so the owner of desryn says hey im gonna sell him off to the top buyer ...anyways the new owner of desryn does not know how his character behaves how he shapes the world around him or her how other people view him so it throws the other players off as well as themselves ....Nope in my thoughts you make the character you play it why the heck would you wish to play someones elses character for ?
1.the person didnt earn it (oh look im cool im lvl 100 Blah)
2.This character everyone knows (why do I get treated like this )
3.Um who is this person talking to me (?its your wife )
4.I can post more reasons but i think you get the idea.
Lenric
-
I would say 4.
I Think We should Be able To Delete Acounts.
-
i think it should be unlimited because if they have 4 players for 4 dif. skills that will bring down all their players instead of just having 1 good one. Also I think you need to have some way off not letting them make a player they play on for 5 min ya know?
Does creating players take up alot of space on servers?
-
the reason i say 10 is quite simple. if you can only have one char, you cant learn new stuff about other classes.
if you have unlimited, then dumb little kids will make 50 stupid guys they never play and will take up mem, therefore causing a HUGE lag and making everyone want to quit. 8o HUUUGHHHH that was a mouthfull
-
jsut keep in mind, overpopulation causes laggggggg!
-
you guys.... you need to think outside teh box. i keep hearing stuff like\"yeah it would be to dangerous to have unlimited accounts cuz of mule transfers\" well first off, once someone shows me that items dont appear on the ground after it is dropped ill shut up, but untill then i change my vote, i got from 4 to 8 accounts, i mean we always make the extra downloadto load are chars offline, cuz the dev team said there would be offline playing, so if we use are own hard drives, let the little kid with 800acounts screw himself. since a good sum of people have played eq before, they have seen the littel screen where u can select your character, it cuold just be a simple list of names after u type in your account name and password( i.e. Account Name:Cyonamie Password:***********) and then the screen pops up, it could even appear as this:
1)Cyonamie-Dermorian-Level 79-Location Yliakum Market
2)blah blah-Klyros-lvl 6-Location Stone Laberinths
3)etc
4)etc
5)etc
6)etc
7)etc
