Title: Help needed with models for other project
Post by: AryHann on January 05, 2005, 10:01:30 am
Hi!

I know that a lot of 3d artists are playing PS or reading this forum.

I have a project (my thesis), that use PS code, which is the reconstruction of a Bronze Age village.

I have practically finished the model, but I have some things left to do, and I am not an artist so I have encountered obstacles finishing them.
These things include:
1) Texturizing of some objects. I have objects that would need specific texture, and I am really bad in doing it. These are done in 3ds max, but they can be exported in .obj format.
2) Avatars plus animation. I have \"Bronze Age\" and \"archaeologist\" avatars that need to be done. I have some model already, but it needs some texture and animation work. The model are in Blender

Whoever may be interested in helping me (just for fun and generousity), please contact me! I really need this help, especially with the avatars.

Thanks in advance to who will answer!
Ary

Hi again!

I want to thank you for replying to my message.
I guess I am covering the texturizing of some objects, but the big problems are still the avatars.

So, if somebody has the will and the skills for helping me, consider that I really need help with the avatars!

Thanks in advance,
Ary

I would like to write again hoping that some modeller with some free time and some will would like to help me with the avatars.

I have reference material and some basic model for them (in blender), but I have to texturize them, animate them.

I hope somebody will help me, sorry for posting again (I made a mistake.. )

Ary

I could animate them, but I am not sure if there is way to export skeletons from maya.

Anyone know a way?

I\'d like to help but when it comes to art I suck. :-d. So mnah.
I\'ve seen some people in the art forums, you could probably talk to them about it if you haven\'t already..

Thanks you anyway Cybio.

I was thinking that posting such a message in the Fan Art forum would have been off topic, considering that this is not fan art :-D That\'s why I have been posting here. I will try to give an hint to this thread there.

Thanks,
Ary

Hi there.

If you still need textures for those blender models, I\'d be willing to help. I\'m not very proficient on animation and bones though.

Djaggernaut says it\'s for a good cause, so I trust that you\'re not trying to cheat on a school task or anything. ;)

Texturing is a boring task. If you have a few thousand dollars to spare, maybe you could get zbrush, the texturing in that is like drawing on the model but at the same time mayking the texture. order it here>>>>>>>>
zbrush.com

Zbrush is also good for avatars. you can export .obj files and it is an organic modeller so it is like drawing depth to the model. and, of course, you can move polygons around
