Title: *update ''no text'' official fix?*
Post by: hovergroovie on January 07, 2005, 07:39:51 am
(skip to the \'\'down to buisness\'\' portion if your not a fan of reading...which wouldnt explain why your in a forum...)

i was skimming through a 30 page thread on another forum about free mmorpg\'s. i know im not the only one interested in this...i mean i have a level 70 character on runescape, and i dont even like that game all that much. this one caught my eye quite well. so i went through the somewhat painless process of downloading the game...after letting it update, and restarting the game...i had a problem. so i came to the forum and seen a few others complain about their text dissapearing. usually i dont write a book on my experience in search of a solution, but im not the only voice saying the same thing, so i have to raise mine a bit.

*down to buisness*: has their been an official (and effective) way to fix the problem of dissapearing text after updating to crystal blue? i havent seen any real answeres issued where im looking, so i thought i would just ask streight up.

Like any beta, this one is going to have its issues?

To fix the ?no text after update? bug:

- Reinstall PS.

- Go to the PS directory and make a copy of glwin32.dll; put it in a safe place (outside of the PS directory)

- Run the updater ? Once finished, it will tell you to restart the updater.

- Close out of the updater, then copy your safe version of glwin32.dll back into the PS directory. (Be sure not to cut-n-paste? you?ll need the safe version again.)

- Run the updater (again).

- Once the updater has completed, copy your safe version of glwin32.dll back into the PS directory again.

- You?re good to go.
