Title: Can't update the game

When I finish installing the game I run the updater and it completes the first time through and says I need to restart the updater.  Then when I restart the updater all of the words are gone and the buttons that I can click are all blank.  The same as when I try to load the game.  There are spots for my name and password but the words name and password are gone.  Any idea what the problem could be?
