Title: computer tempatures

i just wanted to know how hot do your computers run?

mine is about on average:
48C - CPU
30C - Case

right now:
51C/33C

playing Morrowind:
55C/35C

if you dont have a program to tell you Motherboard Monitor (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) is good, as it is what i use :)

EDIT: i spelled temperatures in the title wrong :(

righto, if your computer is slightly warmer does it work crapper and slower ?

not really... the higher it gets around 65C just means you may not have a processor anymore...

a CPU can handle up to 90Celcius, if it turns itself off several times because ur pc is to warm your CPU would probably die.

and mine runs standard at 23Celcius.

Case: 37C

At the moment, when playing they get just a little higher, up to around 40C.

What does the Sensor temperature actually mean?

Well, I would have been able to bake cookies inside my computer. seriously: I would have been able to make eggs on my graphics card!!

since my computer wants to be a butthole and run at 56C while playing PS, im gonna have to old off till A)temp drops back down or B)get a new fan or something... i dont think i got any slots left though :\\

A CPU should be fine upto about 65C. Any more and you should think about getting some new cooling. The CPU can take about 95C usually, but they generally switch off by then. Mine runs at between 20C-40C depending on what I\'m doing. Graphics card temp is also important, most people don\'t realise this. A graphics card which gets too hot starts to have bad performance, data loss, and can have to do vpu resets and stuff :/

my case stays low 33C but my CPU runs so high... so i probably just need a new CPU fan i guess... the one on it is a replacement :\\

my graphics card runs fine, seeing as it has a fan right over it blowing through a PCI slot

I have my computer to shut off at 60C, because i dont want no bad to happen to my computer...

you could also remove the dust out of the cooler, that might do the trick also, you should clean you case and coolers bout every 3 to 4 months to keep high performance.

i know this sounds stupid but... clean out all the dust which will stop about 90% - 95% of the air getting into your computer.  there will bel like little slits with a grill over it on your computer with dust in blankets.

give your tired lil computers a rest

lol we opened ours up a while ago and it had tonnes of dust (never really been cleaned for a good 6 months or so and it had so much dust it will make your fan go \"rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr\" lol (that was a fan straining noise)

but yea we slid out the grill and vacumed off a blanket of dust a few mm\'s thick.

your computer probably knows when its getting hot and slows down procesing to help. am i correct ? lol..ahh i dont know.

another thing do not eat at the computer, you will drop crums into your keyboard and ants will walk around in there. if they get into your computer they will short circut you.

The first time I built by first computer, I didn\'t realise that you needed thermal paste.....  Imagine just spending your hard earned cash on the first AMD Athlon 1Ghz, building the thing, rubbing hands together and sitting back beaming with pride.  Switch on the machine, and watch the temp soar...... *pop-fizz*  .......

I think I\'m gonna need a new processor.....  2 hours after buying the first one, oh yeah, and some paste......

Needless to say I\'ve learned my lesson, and my processor now runs at a lovely 24?C ...
