Title: Graphycs problem in linux
Post by: flechte on January 14, 2005, 10:38:04 am
Hi everybody
I am experiencing a really strange problem. When I run CB under linux (Suse 9.1, installed using bot CVS and RMPs) I have an enormous lag, also moving the mouse (I move it and have to wait 10 to 20 seconds to see it move..............). And when I log in, I can see the menu buttons, chat window and nothing more.... Only the background image of the loading screen. I\' tryed both on my home PC (equipped with a Radeon 7200, 128 Mb Ram) and on my office one, equipped with and oldest 64 Mb Graphyc card.
Could anyone help me, please? I\'m still running Windows only to play this game.............. ^_^

 So Long!

I experienced the same problem under Debian. I needed to export the CRYSTAL variable to solve it (I took the PS installer binary file, search for it in the forums, and compiled Crystal Space on my own).
To do this, type

cd /path/to/planeshift/root/folder
export CRYSTAL=/path/to/crystal/space/engine
and then
./psclient
to start the game.
in a console (as a normal user).
