Title: Will the player guide be available soon?
Post by: Buechler on January 11, 2002, 07:33:52 am
Seeing as how the demo is probably coming out sometime in February , is the player guide coming out soon too?  Because I believe it will be very helpful to players when playing Planeshift.

well in my opinion there will be no need for the player guide anytime soon. the demo isnt actualy going to be something you can play. its more of a \'take a look at how things look\' type thing. there will be chatting and things like that, but as in stated in the IRC Q and A with Talad..... there will be no skills used in the first demo.

You can create chars offline, right? So if you liked the appearance of your char, you could transfer that.

wow..... thats a very interesting thing you just brought up...... since they are chreated offline will there be a way that the char chreator would hold any chars made? cause after you make one that you are happy with , you have to upload it to the main server... will that char still remain or be gone entirely to the server... something to think about .......

and as long as the character\'s are made offline.  will there be a single player mode too?

One thing I would definately suggest for the website is what classes/jobs the diffrent races can get to.  That way when you are in creation you dont make the wrong thing or join the wrong guild 8o

There are no specific classes, although some races may have advantages towards spellcasting and fighting etc. So you can specialize in anything you want 8)

Does being good at magic make it harder for you to fight?  Are their preist abilits that have the same problem?  I just want to be able to make a necromancer knight =)

I think if you train at magic then your fighting skills will just remain the same(not decrease). So to be a necromancer knight you have to train at both magic and fighting, so you won\'t particularly excel at both unless you spend a helluva lot of time playing :)
