i was down in some really dark place. I could see nothin!
Is this my screen or is there some way to make light or should i just relize that im screwed and never getting out?

planeshift  is a great game....

I cannot aid you with that friend, but mayhaps someone else can if you reveal to us where exactly you were at the time! It could have been a bug perhaps?!

i belive i was in the sewers now that i think about it. I am havinf trouble getting out becasue i cant see were i am going. i need to die someone said but i dont want to. I would like to find my way out so i dont get stuck again. I can see lights on the sides of the walls sometimnes but other times i just am in the dark and cant see if im turning around or not.

If this is not a bug then how do u people see? i can only  imagine.

Have you tried turning up the brightness/gamma of your monitor?

TBH, I find Planeshift to be a rather dark game in general.  My brightness is set to 100% and I still have to draw the curtains to be able to see much in the dungeons and sewers.

This is really an issue with the mac.  THere are posts explaining how to correct it, I think in the Mac OS thread
