are you missing any other text like at login or something?
and now you only have chat options at the top of the chat window no longer at the bottom ;)
-
yes...
what should i do ??
-
copy the old wingl32.dll over the new one to fix that search the forums for the old wingl32.dll
or you could uninstall planeshift reinstall it and update that should fix it for sure

It tricked me too after I compiled PS from cvs a while ago ;)
To quote the history.txt:

- Removed the default chat mode buttons on the bottom of the chat window.
Now default is determined by the tab that is active.
Just too bad the lower tabs are gone :(

Hi!
abe I think you have just to read player guide and learn the commands for communication, ie: /say /shout etc.etc.
The buttons have been removed and that\'s a pity because I think they were especially usable (for newbie), it is also true that it is rather annoying when there is people that abuse of some command (especially shout)!

I want that tab on the bottom back, it was easier and quicker to talk with that. I also think it\'s more logical to have tabs on both sides.

Use the commands if you really want to shout.
Plus it makes no sense what you\'re saying
If you want to shout, then be in the shout tab.
In the old system, you could shout while being in the guild chat, which somebody (x100) reported as a bug

I was hearing voices saying that the tabs have been put down because of the fact that there was people abusing them.
Could it be nice to use as reference book: Human computer interaction, Jonas L?wgren for similar issues.

Yeah, I always found it strange that if you accidentally shout something you want to say to your guild, then use \"up\" to get the message again, and flip to guild, it prefixes \"/shout\" on there anyway, so you have to retype the entire thing. :D
Smells like a bug to me....or stupid design choices. Technically you don\'t say \"/shout\", so it shouldn\'t be recorded as text. ;)
Another thing I found annoying(haven\'t been on for a few weeks), is if I\'m answering a question or something in shout mode, while talking to an NPC, quite often I forget to flip back onto \"say\". If the NPC is selected, the message should go to him, as I always deselect NPC\'s whenever I am talking to someone else, then reselect them when I want to begin talking to them again. This should not apply to monsters, obviously.
Edit: I doubt the last one will be changed for convenience or common sense though, since there are plenty of slow-typers and hotkey-illiterate people out there. :D

I don\'t really see what the problem is, I just stay in \"All\" and type /say /shout /tell etc before what I want to say and in the case of Kramy you don\'t have to retype everything just hit \"Home\" and change /shout to /guild or whatever. Even when the tabs were on the bottom I never used them. The only time I actually use the tabs is when somebody says something when I\'m in the middle of a fight, I just go to the other tabs to see it without having to scroll past my attacks (yes I turned them back on after the update, I like to see how much damage I do and how much I take)
