Title: New Updater
Post by: Chewy gumbal on January 21, 2005, 12:54:17 am: I downloaded planeshift, i have installed it and i could get it to run and update last sunday, but today when I try and update it, it says \"will now start updating old files in the background, please do not do anything untill you get a message to say to. Press OK to continue\". I press continue and nothing happens. Is there a way to get the updated version another way?

Post by: DruzilDorigen on January 21, 2005, 03:01:13 am: ok vaxine we were not talking about that so shut it. And anyways i found the solution to our problem. Re-install the game and then run the updater and update version 1.0.2.1. to 1.0.2.3 and it will update for a good while but when it finishes you will have the latest installment of the game.

I just ran into this problem and tried Xen\'s method. Works great. I ran the updater again and now its downloading/updating the client. Thanks Xen!

1. go to ur updater temp file AFTER the mssg has come up

2. then unzip the file updater.zip into the same temp folder

3. run the updater in the C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue not the C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\updatertemp folder

4. soon heaps of dos windows will pop up then it says it will try to open up the updater again. then anyther update should come and ull b sweet (NOTE if the updater doesnt open itself up open it up from the updated shortcut!!)

Post by: Xen on January 21, 2005, 09:44:21 pm: im writing a program to fix problems like this, it will automaticly add msvcr.dll and copy the updater files, delete corrupted stuff etc.
