Title: ps has been plagued with beggers. . .

this is sad to say but beggers have started to plague ps.just today wen i was playing i was offered a some love for 50 trias and i a kiss for 5 trias.my question is how are u supposed to do that? some poeple will do anything to get money. its kinda sad.........

we need to do something, something to fight them, we need open pking and reprt abilities. we also need a test and last but not least, we need another city, and we need to make it far, far away (just make massive woods). we could call this place, rpers haven. in this place trading could be allowed but, it would be extremely far from yaklym  so the noobs would be left behind. make a long, boring walk along with player run anti noob police force, that could fight against the beggers. a library for the questionairs and training grounds for the trainers. this would be a wonderous city that would be filled with planeshift\'s true players, not the beggers. citizenship (so you spawn there) could be only made by a 3 day trial of no begging or questioning aside from where the library is. sheesh, just hide the download and register links within about 10 pages, they arent that smart you know... but once one finds it... its all over, so have soem daily script run to randomize the pages :D

IC begging and \'other\' things is fine in my opinion. Not to say that\'s the official opinion, since we havn\'t discussed such \'acts\' yet. ;) But as far as I\'m concerned, people can roleplay anything they wish, if they do it in a decent fashion and arn\'t just doing it out of laziness or pedophilia or something.

Oh and with beggers, I just say if they can beat me in a duel they can have whatever they want, *whipes fresh blood off sword*

Beging is native and natrual to ANY role play game you find.  Blocking threatning killing and moving away from that will not solve the problem.

         Yes I do agree there is a need to limit the excessive beggars, but a majority of them you can just progress beyond.  Just don\'t mind them and be on your way.

What is this?  Trying to refuse the use of one of the rl worlds oldest professions (not that some professions should be implemented due to there nature ;) ) ?

Some monks and other religous fellows beg for their meals as their work does not pay.  I see no reason that begging should not be allowed as long it is done in a seemly fashion.  

There should probably be a guild (to many of them these days, but I mean a guild like those of old) so that rules and protocols could be implemented.  One of the rules should be that the beggar can not ask for things or speak overmuch.  Then an beggar bowl, or similiar instrument of begging, available only through the beggar\'s guild, could be used.  The beggar equips the bowl (and if they are smart unequip all else, I mean who wants to give to a beggar that has a powerfull sword and mail armor).  The bowl should be visible to others.  Then if anyone wants to donate they should give to the person.

Now if a beggar is being a nusense they should be reported to the guild and then they could take proper actions.

Of course I am only dreaming for the people begging now are not the type that would go through all this hassle just to be a beggar ;)

Yah... Pedophilia probably a wrong word here. Maybe it is because there are no kids implemented in Planeshift. We can have zoophiliacs though by phrases like \"Sir, I shall pay you 99.99 trias for a night with that nice gobble over there...\", but that is a completly different story.

OOC: Maybe we should assign a little plaza near the big tower for prostitution... I can\'t believe I said that.

To XeNoDeMoS: That is definetly not an excuse at all... :D Though my own opinion would be that the hunter is the oldest profession.

She said basically that as long as you beg in character, she could care less. The harrassment an in character begger can use should be tollerated unless is is excessive, or used for e-stalking little kids.

Well, I am not against beggars, as long as they made it IC. If someone nicely asks me if I could lend him some money, I wil give him some (maximum 20 t), if someone offers me some seemingly not exxisting work, I also would (well it depends, I have no use for prostitutes but for artists in any way)I cant see whats so bad, with prostitutes as long as they make it IC (and ingame of course), there were enough of them in the medieval.

I just have not spotted you yet to try out my IC begging. You must be sneaking off as soon as you spot my character! :D
