Title: Mac Mini
Post by: JellyWerker on January 24, 2005, 01:27:17 am
What are your views on this awesome little piece of engineering? I plan on getting one by may, or whenever they release osx: tiger. I am going to try and get the student version of macromedia studio mx (only $199 with $50 rebate :D ) and virtual pc, so I can run dogwaffle 2, I also want to get the student versions of adobe premier and photoshop, it will be a loaded little mac :D I also want to get the 3ds max student version. A lot of student versions true, but better to pay $1000 for the software than $15000! yikes that would be a steep sum! Oh, and corel painter, or something for natural sketching.

I find it *ponders about how to put it* ?(  Ah, completely useless :).
Its too weak and expensive. It costs more than my comp and its weaker than it too.

I just see no use in wasting money on this.

I have rethought this, and and I have decided not to get one. I should have thought about it a little more before posting. I just remembered I have a 2ghz amd 2400 cpu and a mach speed 2npap lite mobo in my closet, how stupid I feel :D

If I could afford one I would buy a G5 just for my image editing and stuff. But, then again, if I could afford a G5 I would probably make the ultimate gaming comp :D

Heh, me too, I might get one if I score above a 1400 on the sat, or get in the 95th percetile. It will be my one and only school related perk :D

I always keep a Macintosh around for the purposes of video editing and other \'grafics\' related projects. But that little bugger looks like a waste of time and cash.
Why do they keep doing these kinds of things?

This is actually what a lot of people on mac forums have been wanting for a long time.  Before this, the cheapest mac you could get was $1000 canadian... now that\'s down to $599 (at least with student pricing).  Also, many people are happy with the eMac\'s capabilities but don\'t want the bulky 17\" CRT, especially if they already have a functional display.  While the CPU/RAM/HD stats might not be particularly impressive, that really, really doesn\'t matter any more for so many things.

If you\'re paying 1200 Euro for a mac mini, you\'re paying WAY too much.. don\'t buy RAM from apple!

if i had enough for one of those... i would definately just go out and get myself a new computer, cheaper this time though... just gonna buy all the pieces and glue together instead of them putting my choices together for me...

Correction: They would be forced to become... out of business. And if that happened, then I would have to send my evil trained squirrel army to your house to ease the crushing depression in my soul.
