ok. I will sort each bug I think is the one PS Devs should fix and ones that hey can fix later on.
1. Lagging. MUST be fixed
2. Players falling out of the sky when they start?!
3. please remove the \"invisible holes\" that leads to the Death Realm. One location is the stairway that enters the sewers in the plaza
4. Me seeing other player\'s strenching their arms VERY long arms. You think a Kran\'s arm can stretch about 35 yards?
5. Can\'t get any experience after killing something??!!
6. A.I not counter attacking.
7. Immortality Bug
Thats all. I recommend Devs should at least fix 1,2, and 3. Fixing them should make the game more calmed
-
We are trying to fix all the bugs. Some are easier to fix than others.
-
1. We know.
2. We know.
3. We know.
4. We know.
5. We know.
6. Eh?
7. We know.
Do you honestly think that the developers left these bugs in the game for a laugh? Do you really, truely believe that, amongst the countless other threads reporting these same problems, you are the only one to think they should be fixed? Do you have any idea what developers do? (Hint- they fix stuff).
Seriously... \"You think a Kran\'s arm can stretch about 35 yards?\" What do you think?

you don\'t seem to be able to fix the dead body bug but you really dare to touch the platinum ores?

I haven\'t encountered a single bit of lag in CB. Ever.

Same here! And i\'m on 56K! The ping sucks hard, but there arent any *huge* lags.

anybody, who claims about things could be better, can try to fix the problems himself and i am sure it is not that easy.
i am no dev and only have a very little knowledge of programming, but i know, that bugtracking isn\'t great fun at all and i am quite happy that there are the devs, who just do it anyway. so i think most devs would like to know about the bugs, but there is no need to criticize them for way or order they fix the problems, as long as you are not a dev yourself.
@Moogie:
there are diffenent effects of 6. two are described here (by beerke and me):

Ok. I\'ve seen multiple players strenching their body parts enbelievely long. Seriously. I account this a bug
Ok. Maybe the A.I counter attacking are some times for the enemy \"Rogues\"
Ok. I think I have a bad graphics card..... usually freezes everytime I walk some certain distance
Ok. I will wait until the devs will fix players falling out of the sky.
And seriously, I give credit for the DEVs for their commitment to making PX and not pushing them. I just want them tonotice my point that PS needs to be fixed

Just wanna let ya know that i think there is holes in the world near the dungeoun entrance cause i fell of the edge many times and fell through the world you can also see blue areas between like the wall and ground and stuff

Location can play a factor when it comes to lag. Some areas could experience temporary slowdowns due to localized internet congestion. But this doesn\'t account for the lag that some/most are experiencing.
I noticed a big difference from MB to CB and expected it. Areas that used to lag, don\'t anymore and visa versa.
GRAPHICAL Lag is what the problem is, is what they say and that is true to a point. The default is 200 Meters(?) and for a lot of older systems (like mine) that is too much when in the city (but ok in the country side) and needs to be cut down by adjusting the settings. I tried 50 Meters and the difference was remarkable. 50-100 works ok in the city but play with it to get things to smooth out.
Once I discovered this, a new problem hit me that I partly expected but wasn\'t sure at first. Under the old MB version, my 512 Meg RAM seemed ok. Under my Windows 98 and the new CB, in 800x600 I bearly can get the game loaded and I\'m down to, like, 5 Meg free which vanishes in seconds. At this point every change that occurs causes swapfile activity. Depending on drive, processor, RAM and BUS speeds, the amount of lag that this creates can varry. When I upgraded my system to 1 Gig of RAM, this problem went away.
I see the game along with the Windows OS using about 650-700 Megs of RAM. But even with my 1 Gig, I still can\'t use the \'load all maps\' option without crashing in seconds and thats if I can get a full load at all. lol
This is just my option on the lag matter and what I have done to try to resolve it.
Hope it helps. :)

Most lag (95%) is because of bad hardware/hardware support. There are no realy network lag problems. No one will tell you that because every person has atleast sead it 100 times (x1000 person = alot) and still people fail to find the search function of the forum and find any of those 0,1 mil threads that say that the lag is because of bad hardware and not because of a bad server. Besides planeshift is build in such a way that high ping doesn\'t matter much for playing. I only told 11 people about this so I still have to get my quota so I suggest you be glad about that.
Also the devs are aware about more bugs than are posted in the forums. I don\'t say don\'t post anymore bugs. I do say first search the forum in the case that the bug is already reported (chance = 70%).
Einhander:
You didn\'t untherstand what they try to say here. So I\'ll help you out on this one.
They know that the buigs exist! Yes it are bugs! They agree with you! But they have been reported at least 10x already. And what do you think that the devs are doing? Stay awake late at night just to poke into the noses? No I\'ll tell you. They do it for the community. They want to do something without personal gain. They want to make a fun, bugfree, game that every RP fan will love. I stress RP because that is the what it will become not a new WOW or a new FF nor an EQ2. Because they are just hack and slash based. RP players would prefer useless things that help in RP above new weapons.
It\'s sad realy that Commerce tries to sell things. I mean Common MTV/TMF/BOX TRANCE is no POP (not even when it\'s Popular. WOW/FF/EQ2 hack and slash is not a RPG.
P.S. RP = role playing. The playing of a person that you aren\'t in real life. It\'s acting and your the actor.
P.S.S.If you are a mighty knight then so be it. But
remember as in realy life no 100% of any country is in the army.
P.S.S. Yes I\'m drifting off 8P

The high usage of RAM (as you said 650-700MB) is not wrong, but i can use \'load all maps\'. I am sure it also depends on the OS you are using. I run Planeshift on WinXP Pro and with \'load all maps\' it needs between 700MB and 850MB, but it works. There must have been some changes about the RAM usage, because in older versions (some weeks ago) i could not use that feature, which definitly makes the game MUCH BETTER, because it is much easyer to feel like being a part of a world, if this world does not need to load new maps :) .
The Devs do not only seem to fix the bugs, but already start optimizing the game.

@P.S.S.
I am sure you are right. I am really looking forward to the time there is a good way to enjoy the world of Planeshift without any NEED to fight. Right now, the only thing you can do is to mine, which starts getting boring after a while. But with regard to the history, mythology and the whole setting written on the homepage of Planeshift there will be complete society in that world - with the need to fight, but many other aspect also.
Sorry, I start drifting off, too.

If you have graphical lag, or a gfx card sold before 2003, you will probably want to turn on the adaptive far plane clipping feature in Options->Camera to make it better. It is easy and it works very well.

I didn\'t say that the lag was because of a bad server. I said that occational lag can be caused by internet lag. In other words, all the connections from my computer to the server are not entirely reliable. If one goes down or is overwhelmed with requests, my trafic has to reroute and that is not instant. Suddenly my 500 ms ping goes to a 2000-3000 ms ping (which means 2-3 seconds). And I am not saying that this is always happening. But can be experienced every few minutes.
In addition to the fact that there are areas on the globe where internet is not as futuristic as where I am. I\'m talking about the lower priority zones which DO exist.

I just tried the \'load all maps\' feature again and yes you are right. It isn\'t crashing on me anymore. But under Windows 98SE the memory usage is not the same. After a full load I have about 60 meg free but that is only because my memory manager tries to keep that much free and optimizes my ram every ten minutes. After 9 minutes of play I have long since used the remaining 60 megs and am experiencing the original lag problem (RAM vs Swapfile) which turns into a quarter to half second lag spike every 5-10 seconds.
This would not be so much of an anoyance if I was pointing the same after the spike but the game buffers in my mouse motions and executes them all at once after the spike. I have mouse excelleration turned off but it almost seems like the game turns it back on because I only have to move my mouse a millimeter durning the spike to turn up to 180 degrees after the spike.
So, as much as I enjoy not having to load maps, I enjoy the lag spikes less and will go back to map loading at least till I can go get a one gig ram module to add in and see if it still gobbles it all up.
