Title: Woodelf
Post by: Draklar on February 03, 2005, 08:20:59 pm
Well I\'m sure \'twas a great joke from devs to give forestry elves clothing, in which you would never actually go to forest, but I decided to create a bit more woodish type of clothes anyway :P

Still in making, and I obviously have to work on the shirt, but what do ye think thus far?

Looks like a girl? Have you made your character a girl drak?

Well the only thing is that he has Knickerbockers (those short pants, yuck) but anyways could you give me the mesh and texture, for i want to make an albino version of it

*points at himself*

Have you ever actually played CB Merdarion?  If you have you would know that that is an in-game mesh.  You  have it in your PS directory along with the official skin.  You\'ll need the CS importer for max to see it.  You can make your own skin using the boundaries provided from the original skin (don\'t build your skin with the official one as the base as that is against the PS license).

Draklar: Not bad.  My only beef with it is the top of the boots.  They just look funny.  iirc you can use a transparency there and make those faces completely invisible.  Someone correct me if I\'m wrong.

Edit: By \"top of the boots\" I mean what was the flare of the pants on the original skin.  You seem to have recolored the shins to make knee high boots.  Great idea.

Is he wearing a shirt made out of grass?

I mean nothing wrong with that....great for blending in and all....

They said they\'re working on the shirt...

and the male elf in game DOES look like a girl, so so does his, because hes just reskinning the in game model...

Merdarion: look at ArcaneFalcon\'s Edit ;)

Aendar, the problem about shirt is that I don\'t know what I want to make with it yet... :<
So it\'s whatever you make of it I guess :P

Looks like you\'re using the grass texture though.

Should make the pants outta mud...the ultimates survival gear....grass and mud.

Though it may be a little uncomfortable.

By \"just increase the female look\" do you actually mean changing angle from which the screenshots were taken?
I don\'t see how textures changed anything...
:?

Draklar, that is the manliest wood elf I have ever seen.  Just because he has a shadow on his stomache doesn\'t mean he\'s a she.  It just means he\'s ripped, and that the lighting is at an odd angle.  The materials on the shirt and pants look pretty good also.

/me throws Draklar a couple cool points.

Very nice work Draklar.

Looks very wood elvish. You\'ve \'hidden\' the original boots well :) Although the clothes are mostly plain cloth, i think they fit to the character pretty well, and there is no notable texture distortion. You could darken the pants a bit where the lower end of the shirt is, to create a little more dimension there.
