For some reason, the updater now crashes on start. \"Blah error, do you want to report it to M$... blah\".
Here is the full error log, hope it helps:
http://www.denacke.net/Dibo/stuff/errorlog.txt

Same here, even the fixed updater from Talad doesn\'t fix it. I reinstalled planeshift after Talad said the updater was fixed, then used the updater. First the updater updater itself to the new version, then it updated the game to the latest version. After it was finished, I wanted to ping the server. I launched the updater again and got the same error as you have.
-
I\'m getting the same problem: I think the new updater has some problem either with our computers, or our OS type. I have XP home edition, here is my DXDIAG:
What in the world could be the problem? My computer gives me an \"error\" message, do you want to report it to Microsoft, ect, ect. Well... the new \"updater\" seems to have bitten the dust this time.

\"It seems we all have, wait a day and then check back, it\'s hard for these guys to get everything running without crashes or errors. ^^ Allthough, if it\'s not done by tommorow, then start to worry a bit!\" ^^;
-
Same thing here as well. Windows XP Home, all current drivers, directX 9.0c. It\'s done it for two days now I believe.
-
For some reason, the updater now crashes on start. \"Blah error, do you want to report it to M$... blah\".
Yep... XP Home...All current drivers... 8o ;( :(
-
Same here, but with XP pro sp1a.
-
same updater and client crashes Im not sure but I think it crash when you ask for fullscreen mode and then the error stays
ERRATA : updater crashes and client crashes for another reason... in fact I dont advice you to install the openal driver from Creative labs... it\'s really a ... thing! but full screen run indeed!
-
Same here, the new updater version crashes. I use winXP sp1. What windows version do the devs thest the code on?
[edited] I got the fix. Go make a shortcut on dextop of the updater, then rightclick, properties and add --auto at the end of the text in target field.
-
mh I extracted all files from the updater.zip into the PS dir, replacing the existing ones, now the updater seems to run fine again, although it keeps on finding the updater.txt each time I check for updates. Hope this is supposed to be like that and not a bug again.
Though, others seem to have more serious problems with the updater.
-
It always finds updater.txt as an update, don\'t know why though.
-
Seems to be an XP issue. I have the same problem and I have XP.
-
Same as Diablo here and I\'m running 98 B
-
I thought the Devs used Linux to code it, oh well. I have the same problem though, XP Home SP2. Everything is updated too, maybe it\'s a Direct X 9.0c problem?
-
That \"--auto\" fix really saved my day! I was mad trying to make that thing work... Thx Psycon!!!
-
bah. i tried extracting, didn\'t work. and when i try to add \"--auto\", it says the target is invalid. i may be typing it wrong.
-
the auto thing is simple, just like this
\"C:\\Program Files\\PlaneShift Crystal Blue\\updater.exe\" --auto
worked for me o and any1 with an idea of when its gonna b fixed, fixed?
-
Try it both outside and inside of any quotes. Remember you need a space between the .exe and --auto if inside the quotes, and between the quote and --auto if outside.

Not everyone. I, the one who knows the updater best (Coded VERY much of it :P) uses windows, so I think it should work the best in it
