Title: Constant crashing

well when ps went back up i was able to log in a load up but after about a min or so this error message came up and then it crashed. can some one help

Yeah I\'m getting the same problems, was able to create 2 characters, first one kept manageing on dying even though I just joined the server, managed to fall in the death realm and die there as well too :\\

Made another one and was able to fill out the entire background, got on server, open skills tab crash....

Looked at my vid card drivers, have the latest ones, bare min running in sys tray.

I am also witnessing these crash bugs, and even when I uninstalled/reinstalled the game. I hope an update will be out soon for this..

PlaneShift does not have any viruses.

axer1: I mean the file it asks you to save when you crash. Host it somewhere, and post it here. Otherwise, you can post all you like, but it doesn\'t help us to fix these issues.

yea my updater and my ps client are crashing my updater crashes right after i start it and ps after about a min it crashes

I have the same problem.  All of a sudden, I could no longer train/open my skill window.  It would crash immediately, and wouldn\'t ask to save to a file.  Now it just crashes after being in game for a minute, and I can\'t open the updater; it crashes too.  So I reinstalled, but no luck.

in the up dater go to the target file then put in --auto and that should fix the updater.

Hi,

A couple of times it was crashing for me when i was creating a character,  http://users.on.net/~dnes/PlaneShift_Version_Feb 21 2005_Addr004E6535.dmp

If your updater is crashing that probably means it is not the latest version of the updater.

open

Start > Run

and type in

C:\\pregra~1\\planes~1\\updater.exe --auto

This will run the updater in an auto mode and will update it and get you ready for the new updates that they will try to make available tomarrow :)

I know most people have heard this before But just as a reminder to all the new playes.  PlaneShift is still in development what you are playing is an alpha version that means there will be bugs and problems.

I suggest not dwelling on it. The devs do know what\'s going on and are working around the clock to get things fixed.  In the mean time brouse the forums.. Post your artwork in the Fan Art forum (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/board.php?boardid=22), tell a story in the Roleplaying forum (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/board.php?boardid=15) or chat about whatever you want in The Hydlaa Plaza (http://www.planeshift3d.com/wbboard/board.php?boardid=19)

In short Get to know the people you are playing with and enjoy the fact that planeshift is more than just a game it is a community.

Exaly i totaly agree to me i find planeshift to be more of a home away from home when i am far away from my home in the real world i come to the one here. And then i don\'t feel so home sick.

Edit: And if i could i would personaly thank each and every one of the creators for doing such an amazing job with this world i hope to see it still alive and kicking in the many years to come. :D

PS. Is there a target date in which PlaneShift (ie ver. 1.0.0) is hoped to released?

Before the server update, I would experience random crashes while playing.  After the server update, I am no longer able to play.  After joining the server, the select character screen comes up, but before I can select a character, the game errors out.  Here is the .dmp file that was produced.

I can assure you that PS dose have a suspicious file that a anti virus program can mistake for a virus... but may mmorpg games have the same so I can also assure you that it\'s nothing to worry about  :P  my anti virus also find it suspicious... It says could be  a destructive program could be the filename it has attack in the name or whatever. Oh and my game also still crashes.... my crashes happened in the train window and the stats window or right at the start when loading the game it would freeze with no dump file... just complete freeze.

Well thatyks to the Intellegent people that invented the --auto my updater is finally doing something other than crashing.What it\'s doing i have no idea but it\'s doing things in a 25% 50% 75% 100% kind of way.
