Title: CHARACTER SELECT CRASH
Post by: Genko on February 21, 2005, 06:06:56 pm
First off: I apologize if this is a repeat. All the other posts were so incomprehensively garbled with uncapitalized words and acronyms and abbreviations that I  couldn\'t decypher them.

Secondly: I have a real problem.

At the character select screen it crashes each time without fail. This happened at 0.3.006 and now with the new build 0.3.007. I completely reinstalled it aswell as using the updater. No dice.

I did happen to save all the diagnostic (dmp) files, so where should I post them? I do not have my own server to make use of.

Thanks for your help and the wonderful game.

Cheers and goodluck.

P.S. And I apologize for the all caps title. It was a tad inappropriate.

I see that mattgerg has the same problem and posted it at the bottom of the thread here:

Nicely he appears to have free hosting from his college and uploaded his dmp file here:

Cheers matt!

After reviewing some other posts I experimented and upon loading a different account without any characters it works..

The only thing is I cannot load is a Stonebreaker on either account.

1. typing the title in all caps just pisses forum readers off and they wont help.

2. dount double, triple or quadruple post, thats why theres that EDIT button up top of post...

Thanks Shan-Shidar!

Now some useful information for you!

Read what other people have posted. Demarthl already alerted me to my broken caps lock problem. Thanks for your genuine interest to help though.

(Perhaps my over-capitalization makes up for your lack thereof.)

I\'m also having this problem :(. Help. Here\'s what I get when I select stonebreaker:

Quote
Warning ID: crystalspace.maploader.parse.image
Description: Could not open image file \'/planeshift/models/stonem_eye_01.bmp\' on VFS!

Material Set on Head

Followed by a crash.

Edit: And it happens on the ynnym female character choose:

Description: Could not open image file \'/planeshift/models/fynnwn/fynnwn_head.png\' on VFS!
No Material!
Material Set on Head
