Dear Xyther, i respect your art, and the way you draw, but some thigs have always bothered me on them.
I\'d like to ask, do you always draw your pictures like this, like they are here: just mere lines on paper, no shadows made, missing all the details, that make the picture alive? Or, do you draw them like this so people could colour them? Or you just like to draw only the lines? Wichever it is, i would want to see a picture from you, that has been finished on the drawing table.
By the way, i bet you have watched lot of anime, and i bet you have seen DBZ. Your Terrornauts legs are like a copy of Cells legs on DBZ.
But, still, i like your work, keep the good work up, and don\'t take think bad of the things i said.

Well, actually i purposely drew them this way so that ppl could colour it easiler. If I were to add in more shading details then it would be hard to colour it.
The drawings that I had drew are being inked so that the lines would be thick enough to be capture by the scanner clearly.
And about Terrornaut\'s leg..........does it look like DBZ cell\'s leg.................hmmm i didn\'t had that image in my head when I was drawing him though. Well doesn\'t character designs overlaps each other. Sometimes what you thought of had already been used by someone earlier and sometimes you tend to get ideas from other ppl\'s work.
If you are talking about resembrance, Thenior\'s Dark Knight ver. 2 looks somehow alike to Nightmare in Soul Calibur...........cause that Nightmare image came into my mind when I was designing him.
And one thing, if you were to see my draft sketches of my drawing........LOL you would prefer the ones that I had posted up. Haha..........those sketches are too messy.

I like the former laanx drawing, but the present evil laanx seems to be down. I kind of pictured the former to be a bit more... primitive yet regal. She just looks really pretty in yours, not of high status at all.

I disagree. The evil Laanx looks awesome. All of your work is really good Xythe. You\'re like Kintall without the photoshop. :P

I was commenting on the good laanx. The evil laanx wasnt working for me. Actually evil Laanx look stunning, and the perspective shot you did would look breathtaking with some colour.

The evil laanx Xythe drew up is awesome and matches what I was thinking of, a darkened archangel, evil presence, yet applies to PS clothing. Of course it\'s up to the devs to make any judgement if that is the laanx they were thinking.

A couple of quick questions about technique if you don\'t mind. What size pen do you use to Ink, and how big do you scan your images (in comparison to how large your finished piece is?).
I can never seem to get such defined edges - I mean, I can filter out all the greys fine, but then my black lines are \'broken\' and definitely not smooth like yours.
Keep up the nice work - I love it. I might have to ask you if I can colour a couple of bits of your work at some point - there are a couple I can imagine in beautiful technicolour only too well!

For pen i just use a ink pen that i found on the table. :P Cause i was lazy to get a good pen. As for scanning, I scanned the picture in pure black and white and not coloured scanning.
As for the broken line, maybe ur line was not connected while you drew the picture? Or is it after u scan then the lines become broken? Well one way to prevent it is try to make sure that your lines are more or less in the same tone of dark. (means not some too light and some too dark.)
For the picture size.......it is bigger then the paper itself when it is scan. I resized it to 45% of the original scan before posting it on the forum.

However, the link to the drawing of Laanx is not working!! The evil Laanx link works but not the one before it. If this Xythe person is still around or if someone has saved his art locally, could you repost it please? Thanks. :P

Those are all pretty dang good. You\'re very confident with your lines, theyre not sketchy and such. I wish i could be like that. I just dont like anime however, so i cant enjoy your pictures very much. Do you feel like drawing something realistically with some shading using a pencil? I\'d like to see what you can come up with, cuse i bet it would look awsome!

i really like your artwork. simple, but compelling. I draw myself, but i am more of a sketcher (i.e. i like to scribble instead of making straight lines, so it looks more detailed :D) I may post my art, that is if i ever get a scanner.

Have you tried making 3D graphics?
If not, try out Blender3D at Blender3d.org , free download, easy to use, but, as I said, I\'m no artist, I\'ve only used it to make the vase in one of the tutorials, and a sword, both looked very realistic, despite my lack of artistic abilty ;)

I\'ve seen it in the comic forums before it died, I wonder where that Laanx picture is floating to? (I wish I saved it onto my HD, usually I save all of the artist work I see).

I cant get over how clean your lines are, it almost lessens the quality sometimes (in my opinion). Ah but what do I know, everybody has thier own style. ^?^ As soon as I get a working scanner I\'m puting my work up!

It takes a while to learn, but according to my good freind who showed me the program, it takes a lot less time than drawing, he\'s rendered over 1000 weapons in nearly 100 varieties in the few months since he found the program.
It gives you pre-set textures, so you can desigh, say, a shield, apply say, a steel texture, if you don\'t like that, you can change it to say, gold(I took this example from the gallery, but the shield there probably took a while to design).

No, 3D work is more time consuming than drawing. With drawing, you\'re working with one plane of the picture/object. With 3D, you need to build the characters/objects like crafting clay (more with characters than objects). Though it is cool to see something you worked on for so long finally come out in 3D, it is something you would do to get a different artistic effect or animation. Maybe I\'m slow, but I can do a detailed drawing in an hour, inked and everything, compared to six hours doing a 3D model from scratch. There are programs like Poser with models and objects to use, but you don\'t get that \"style\" most 3D artists have when doing original work. You can tell artists apart from their drawing styles and tastes, same can be done in 3D.
I\'m guessing your friend uses Poser that you can download objects and textures for.

I just can say that out of my experience, making something in 3d isn\'t a piece of cake, while making weapons like daggers swords and such which are symetric (on at least two planes) isn\'t that hard, making a fully fledged human head (with hair) is very time consuming, even if you don\'t have to keep Polys low (it\'s less work with higher Polys) and after that you still have to do 2D work as in UV Mapping and texturing...
btw.: could you possibly put the \"Colored\" list into the first post?
