Title: Low FPS, on linux

I have installed succesfully PlaneShift on Linux Fedora Core 3, and have run the updater.

Now, i started the client, and it works fine, but the mouse and everything moves way to slow. For example i log in to the server with my account, and i am browsing the races for creating a new char. But once i move the mouse, it takes few seconds for it to react.

Please advice..

Run \'glxinfo |grep direct\' to see if your direct rendering is enabled. If not, get a proper driver for your graphics card ;)

Check the type of your graphics card, go to the manufacturer\'s website, look for a linux driver for your card and follow the instructions... logical, isn\'t it? ;)

Edit: I saw you are running a linux dedicated site, but for how long have you been using linux?
*just wonders why many linuxers actually don\'t know how to install kernel drivers and stuff*

Well if we were to wait for someone that knew eveything, to open a site, we would have to wait for ever.

I agree that my knowledge over linux is not much.. but i have very good knowledge over programming, and i really like linux. I can say that i will be able to help everyone.. but i will try..

If you wish you can join the Linux Reactor team and help people. This is the reason i  opened the site. ..

Anyways there is much to say, but this is not the write place.

IWhen i go to the hardware browser and check for the video cards, i get
a Silicon Integrated Systems [SiS[ 65x/M650/740 PCI/AGP Dislpay Adapter.

Its an on board Video card . This computer is located at my school, and therefor the hardware is not very good..

A SiS graphics chip? Ouch....
Does it even have 3D accelleration? I doubt that somehow, since it is onboard, which makes it even worse :\\
Can\'t you install PS at home?

Hello, i Have the same problem, but the newest driver installed.
My graphics board is a RADEON 9700... only slow mouse...low fps

Then remove everything from your PS dir except art and download the update
from http://planeshift.xpam.de/ then just specify same installation directory
where you have installed PS first.
