Im a little worried cause the wipe is supposed to delete everything right?So I was wondering what would happen if your char name gets used by someone else who just liked it better then thiers?I like my name and i plan to keep it =P

Your right we don\'t own our names; Planeshift (or at this point Atomic Blue) does. However a first come first serve basis does not seem fair to someone who has been playing with a character name for a while when they have a name taken out from under them by someone who simply decided that they liked that name better than the one they came up with on their own.

I think some older people should gain like a right to their names in ps though. I mean, what if you see a moogie walking abound but its not the true moogie.
Or \"Deftblade\" maybe even a Afflixi Eduro 8o

the wipe is returning everything back to the transfer from MB, i thought?
so that means those that transfered will be able to use thier names...

Correct. If you created your name in MB, you should be safe.

I think that the creator of the name should keep it, plagarism(however it\'s spelt) be illegal, and i see no difference between this and the real world, apart from the fact that PS is a game and most of the names are generated (Mine is not) is beside the point!
What i\'m saying is, LETS KEEP OUR NAMES!!

If someone stole my name, I would bug Cad or Moogie to fix that :P

I can\'t believe you honestly spelled your own name incorrectly.. I\'m ashamed..
I dont see a point in taking names.. i mean, if the name is really good, then maybe. but then people wouldnt know who i as.. so i probably wouldnt.

Obviously, it was made on purpose. The altered spelling like in the Depthblade -- Deftblade example.

Yes, I\'m sure it was made on purpose, just like there are now three people using similar naming profiles to \"Lhoran Enelone\" and they are all on \'accident\'.
How do you get the whole name close? Hmmmm?

i share a similar fear.. i really don\'t think anyone would take my name.. except maybe amheh.. but i think that it will be quite chaotic in the first weeks after the wipe when people say \"remember me, im not easton anymore im (insert name here)\" what if it isn\'t that person?
and i know im not proposing a solution, im merely chewing the fat. but i agree with XpYtZ on this one.

A name is but a label, nothing more what is behind the label is what counts not the label itself.

When someone takes the name \"Kwip\" and parades around the Plaza like a clown, you\'ll think more than just \"it\'s only a label\". :)

As usual. Kwip is the only rite one here..but hey...My name was Robinmagus in MB and i loved it..but i screwed him up and lost him in CB..so...GO DB wipe..I want my name back!!!
Get your names stolen..but it will be a happy moment for me *plans to name himself Moogie* (J/K)

Kwip

Cow
Dog
Fence post
Tell me which label is is out of place and you will see why that label is different from all the others.

And that\'s Depthblade!!! They already stole my name...it\'s just so simple...John...I mean the guy doesn\'t even play...:D...Why didn\'t I create John in MB....no I thought it would be boring walking like that \'cos you couldn\'t have last name....so I just called myself Thazer...shame...C\'mon wipe...

I have created my char on MB, but when I have logged on on CB, I had to recreate it. :-/

Hehe, I can be up high and mighty because my name is already reserved :D
But yea just wanted to be a little philosophical but really the only importance in the name is that connections to the actual you are made through it so if it was taken they would have hijacked those connections.
Though this usually does not last long as the behavior of the imposter reveals that he/she is not that person, plus the person being impostered (not a real word :) ) will if able alert others as to the imposter\'s true status unless he/she him/herselves benefited from having his/her label stollen.

Is your name reserved? Or does your account get transfered and you still need to make a new character?
Well personally I hope they don\'t simply but it back to after MB but just make all characters start over with the option to just kick out characters your not using anyhow.
Not that I am afraid anyone is gonna take my name LOL but if someone did and pretended to be me it would be highly annoying to say the least.
