Post by: WizardsRule on March 11, 2005, 04:12:44 am
If we are 15, is there anyway we can apply for the team. I ask this being that you aren\'t being paid and as they say its a \"hobby\". Just wanted to know.

ps:
Wanted to apply for settings team

Actually, I believe there is at least one person fifteen years of age on the team.

[Edit] Keep in mind the quality level of the Devs you see on the forum, Djagg is a good example.  That guy really has some \"mad skills.\"  Check out his works in various parts of the fanart section.
Someone who was popular and had decent skills didn\'t make it (Kintall).  Compare and contrast them.
(I could probably match Kintall\'s work here now, actually.)

In other words, you had better be one of those types who is called \"superior.\"

Don\'t plan on it unless you have some mad skills, there used to be a lot of younger people on the team...but people fortunately learn from their mistakes. :baby:

Don\'t apply for the team. Ask them if there\'s anything you can do, and they\'ll give you a few assignments. If you\'re good, they won\'t care about your age. They will care, though, if you just send in some application.

Since this isn\'t an official company in the work place creating the game I doubt that your age would matter, especially if you have the skill they are looking for to back you up.

We arn\'t in any workplace. :P

The official age requirement for joining is 18. Unless you\'re smart enough to be in Mensa or something. :P

Submit some work. If you\'re good enough then age won\'t matter.

Hmm, I actually doubt they\'ll let you enter anyway, and I don\'t understand much about \"settings\" or whatever you mean.

I\'ve been busy with modeling lately. If you\'d like you (http://hendrik.meriones.de/images/temple6.png) might (http://hendrik.meriones.de/images/temple5.png) want (http://hendrik.meriones.de/images/temple4.png) to (http://hendrik.meriones.de/images/temple3.png) check these out.

I\'m busy with a larger project now (a medieval thief), so if someone would have the want to be slighty intrested, I\'ll make some renders right away.

The age limit is because on international child labor laws.

Wouldn\'t labour laws not apply if its a \"hobby project\"? I mean there are no laws with what you do with all your hobby time (at least i hope not or i am in trouble of being an adult who un the past caused a minor {me} to play an exsessive about of video games for many years :P )

Most of the time it\'s because people under 18 can\'t tell that they won\'t have what it takes.

When the page states \"18 years old\", it\'s because it will clean out the masses.
There are some uber l337ness around that doesn\'t apply to that rules (*cough*  ). It requieres that your parents or guardians sign the papers and such, but you will be fine if you have what it takes
