Title: WHY????????
Post by: Speggs on March 17, 2005, 05:19:56 pm
On the main page we are told that the bit torrent program  includes no spyware. Upon activating a virus scan I discovered that you are correct, which is good. But why the HELL does it contain adware? Possibly one of the most annoying things since Satans creation of the common chav!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

How do you know for certain that the spyware on your computer comes from BitTorrent? I know very sure that BitTorrent doesn\'t contain spyware. The spyware on your pc must have come from a website or another program. Sorry to disappoint you :)

Aye, it\'s also completely dependant on what Bittorrent client you\'re using. Use something well-known and liked, such as ABC.

Also on the website is the statement \"you may have trouble viewing the page.\"  If you can\'t view the page, how would one read this?  I was only able to read it after getting on on school.

First things first Adware is not Spyware.
Now on to the more important matter: the client has ads yes, but few don\'t these days. If you are unhappy with the ads then download PS and uninstall the client. Not to hard really.
If you want to know why the BitTorrent Client\'s designers put adware in it, might I suggest asking them? Since we -and the developers- have no controll over other peoples merchandise.
I agree with you that adware is annoying but there is little that can be done short of making your own client and hoping that it workes better (or at least as well as) this one.
