Title: Fansite rules
Post by: Trober on March 23, 2005, 10:22:20 pm
I checked the fourm and the site, and I know that they are there somewhere, what exactly are the rules on content for a PlaneShift fan/guide site?

well first off... no guides about the game what so ever, no hints, no tricks, no guides... none of that

have fun!

So nothing like a list of monsters and what they drop?

I guess I should have asked that before doing the work, not just before posting, BAD DOBBY! *runs infront of a tefusang and pokes it*

Anything that goes hand in hand with a PlaneShift Encyclopedia would be a bad thing to have, especially if what you have is a fansite. On the other hand, if you\'re going to make an encyclopedia site, don\'t expect anyone to like you for it.

Yes very bad but like every other game there will be people creating sites like walkthroughs and etc..

If you want to create a fansite look at some of the all ready made ones.  One of the best known is Kada-El\'s Tavern at http://tavern.blueglyph.net/

But as you can see above anything like a guide is against the PS license and the whole environment that is trying to be created.

Now one can role-play something like this as long as it is limited to something that would be possible in this (PS) world.  But before you start making scrolls or archives I would check with the developers to make sure it does not cross the boundary.
