How could a torrent infect a system with spyware? LOL
You should run AntiSpyware XP, AdAware or Spybot on your machine for suspicious stuff. PlaneShift comes with NO spyware.

Amen to that.  Please read up on what BitTorrent is before posting such ludicrously uninformed accusations in the forums.

What you were trying to open was not the binary executable file for installing Crystal Blue - you were opening the .TORRENT file which holds the information your BT client needs to continue downloading the .EXE file.  Your BT client already had that .Torrent file open, so it was yelling at you for opening it again.

Get it now?

It was definately WinMX.  WinMX is an unregulated network and as a result tons of people are infected with malicious chunks of code every day.  If you\'re smart you can learn to avoid this problem, but otherwise it\'s a very bad habit to download things from services like Kazaa and WinMX.

Make sure to keep an up-to-date anti-virus program running at all times and scan regularly with anti-spyware programs as well.

Basically what you said was akin to saying \"I ran Windows update and they gave me a virus!\"  Just so you know... ^_^

And how could that happen, eh? A torrent file only contains information of the file(s) to download, like checksum, tracker info, etc. which lets the application know how to get the file. Even if there were a spyware app appended, it couldn\'t be executed.

Nobody is acting \'like that\' here. There\'s no need to start swearing at people who are being helpful and informative. Leave that attitude at the door please. :)
