Title: just one question
Post by: jhazor on March 27, 2005, 07:52:43 pm
got a quick question before i embark

whatsa the in game community like?

cause i\'ve tried other MMorpgs that have been down right unfriendly to new players

and considering the only way new players will stick around is by being able to get involved in the community being unfriendly to them never makes sense to me.

well ur right some ppl are downright mean, but i got to tell u. alot of ppl in this are supposed to be nice( that is wat i hav read about, for i havent even started downloading). sure there will be some ppl that arent nice in this game and will just think of themselves( believe me, i hav had encounters with these type of ppl in other mmorpg, thats y i always quit the others. lol ). wat i would do if u encounter sumone like this just log out for 5 min. get sum snack then come back and start playing, im sure that person will be gone by the time u are back(it always works for me). dont frgt that everyone in one game is not nice, others are just trying to be the best by getting stuff they want , plus ppl are overreacting to games. they should not be mean to get wat they want. so ya i think that if u are a person is sensitive and does not like to be bullied get some freinds in the game and gang up on the bullies( only if they are bullying u or another person, dont start an ugly arguement or its ur own fault).

Yes, there are some jerks, but when won\'t there be? Best thing to do is be a humble newbie, not a noob running around screaming for help like a gobble with its head chopped off. Make conversation and friends in the game, then ask for help nicely and politely.

Essentially, humble actions bring kind rewards, stupidity brings an angry moogie...hehehe, couldn\'t resist.

I doubt it will not be preferred by most, if not all people who read this but this is my solution.
Most of the time you are being bullied, taunted etc by a character who isn\'t the best in the game. Therefore, a good comeback would be to tell them that who are they calling newbies when they can be called newbies themselves
Well i hope yal can make some sense outta this

Actually, you would be amazed at how many good people there are in this game. Usually you have people that play in free games like RS that are mean because they just dont care. The communtity here is spectacular. Of course theres always room for improvement.

i used to play RS but i stoped cause my \"so called clan\" had attacked me in the middle of the wilderness in the middle of a clan war. lol both ( all 29 ppl on me) had attacked me only. but i also was taunted by my teammates after that so i ignored them on my ignore list. HA!! so after that i quit. lol.

ok.. lol..
RS is nothing compared to PS.
PS will dominate!!!
Kinda off subject but seriously, the community we have here is great, the worst people here are the people who just ignore you which isint as bad as..

Hey, it used to be the other way round, I was generosity embodied. :P Once I start actually playing my Moogie char again though, you\'ll see the old handouts and competitions return that I was known for. :)

I found the US prime time players to be ok, but the early morning hours in the sewers were like the middle of a MOSH PIT. RUDE cursing players, spawn stealing (taking an extra turn even when they agreed to share), duel spamming, you NAME it. and NO ignore does NOT work, so the night was ok, but the morning crowd was more like Kindergarten on and EQ PVP server...it was VILE.

Trouble is there are only THREE easily found rat spawns, and there were MANY (five to ten in less than two hours) characters that were doing upwards of 10 to 20 points damage to the rats (AKA they were too high to hunt for xp there, but something...maybe LOOT...kept them there).

Wasn\'t sure where they were from, I do know a few North American players that play \"insomniac\" hours *whistles innocently*. And nationality wasn\'t really my point, only reason I meantioned the US is that is where I am from...and hense, would give a frame of referrence.

I live in DFW Texas area, that is Central time...I THINK that is -6 hours from GMT...I think (I could be off on this one).

Oddly enough, the Brits I met in EQ and Ryzom were the SWEETEST people, so the rude ones in PS being British would stun me. But then Ryzom\'s original community, Beta and early post release, tended to be more cooperative, older and more emotionally mature than the \"average\" gamer. The new PVP elements and the fact that MANY old school Ryzom community have left due to SLOW developement, has changed the community in VERY bad way.
(It is hard to justify the 15 bucks a month when the game isn\'t fun enough to play, so people stop paying and watch the news for when the game FINALLY delivers enough to pay for).
