Title: Another UI Revamp

After spending about 2 hours staring at the updater screen I decided that I didn\'t like it (no offence to the good work put in) and, unusually, decided to do something about it rather than just complain to myself.

Here was my attempt:

I tried to stick to the style of the original and revamp it to look a bit slicker. This version does not include the progress bars (but that could be fixed if it were ever to be used) and the top could do with pulling up a bit to make room for the text.

So please, let forth the hounds of critisism!

Very nice, be sure to try and do this to the whole game, and devs maybe you could use this as the defualt as its the same basic concept except slicker :]

Are you thinking about taking the challenge of completely revamping the GUI for planeshift? the green on gold shineyness would definally give a good look on the GUI...

Moogie, I wouldn\'t use it just yet as it doesn\'t line up quite right, I\'ll fix it for you and do the progress bars if you think you\'ll use it.

I was interested in a little response to the style before I spent ages tinkering to get it just so. But as it seems like people are interested I might give it a go getting it all lined up right.

As for doing the entire GUI... *gosh*. I\'ll try and give it a go if people think it will be worth it. It would be really helpful to get the original PSP files or whatever was used to do them. (Some of the pixel values for placements seem a little random).

It surely is nice. However, I prefer the somewhat dark, slightly evil and a bit menacing look of the current GUI (in fact, I find the main menu ingame to be too friendly looking :) ). Still, good job. :tup:

Well I\'ve made the main box a little less flamboyant (so the text fits inside!) and lined the buttons up better, reduced the size of my self aggrandisement at the bottom so it hides behind the \'Launch Planeshift\' button and added progress bars. The JPG link now shows a mock up of the progress bars at various stages:

If you are interested in using this then there is also a zip with the PNG\'s inside:

Just unzip it into your Planeshift directory. I suggest you keep a backup of the originals; although if you don\'t like it then (ironically) running the updater will get rid of the changes.
