Title: Before or After
Post by: WizardsRule on April 04, 2005, 02:28:23 am
I must mention there is a conflict with the release dates of things such as spells, quest, and ect. True, the game would be more interesting in the aspect of things if certain things were released until the next release. However, if this were to happen, then the add ons could be glitched and after all we are TESTERS. Unfortunately, many players without question will make help sites and reveal spell uses along with many other things like quest solutions. This gives a benefit to them that TRUE players do not receive. Here is where the conflict lies.

Dem, you actually understood what he was saying? Because I don\'t. What conflict, and what does that have to do with help sites??

basically he\'s saying that he wants the new items implemented now to test and get rid of the bugs before the wipe because if its done after and there are exploits it would give an unfair advantage to some and doubt another wipe will be done to remove this, after this is wizardking ;)

And you wonder why people are so upset with talking to NPC\'s.

*puts on his black helmet*

There is no conflict.

*takes off black helmet*

Sorry, out of PS moment.

Really, though, do you expect this to be the only Wipe? There will be others, I\'m sure. It is the cycle of testing. Set it up--> test it--> debug--> wipe/clean slate--> add stuff--> test--> debug--> wipe-->etc...

Deal with it. :)

I was saying that if we release everything before the wipe, then people will figure out how to complete everything and what all the spells do. Thus they will create help(cheat sites such as runehq with runescape) that make a 1 day thing to figure out take 1 hour.  Unforutnately, the only way to stop this would be to release things late making them not fully tested

everything should be out before the wipe. *wink wink*this includes the one race you havn\'t added yet! The Lemur! Remember those things?!  X( I dont want more than one wipe and neither do the devs.

And i dont want another wipe, too. And i saw one post in forum, can\'t remember where it was.
\"This is not a game. You aren\'t playing it. You are testing it.\" So, if this is \"demo\", why to wipe? Cheaters are BIG problem in full game, but not in test version. So, like Efflixi said, everything should be out before the wipe. Make few updates, and then wipe. We can make this. We can play (sry, test) althought there is cheaters. What is funny in cheating? Nothing. You can do it in single player games, but not in multiplayer.

The wipe does not matter.  The devs are being very kind by informing us at all.  Since we are testers to their game, we have no right to what is happening, luckely the devs have choosen to keep the tester in consideration.  They hold the strings and should be treated with respect.

Also it does not matter if the stuff is released early.  If \'guide\' sites are going to pop up they will pop up anyway no matter when you release things.
