I was looking down that hole in the temple earlier and was wondering what the devs were gonna use it for, then it hit me :D. An area in planeshift shud be made into a training ground, it would be a place used primarily to test ones abilities as a planeshift player.
If a guild wanted to test one of their members before promoting them they could apply for permission to use it, then the player would enter the training grounds and would have to face all kinds of obstacles, maybe more than one person could go forcing them to work together or something, just a thought.

Back in the days of Planeshift Molecular Blue, that hole was the main entrance to the dungeons below. Very few people used the \'cellar\' entrance (the one found near the Obelisk/Windowless Tower).
These days, jumping down the well will either kill you, or crash your client permanently- requiring a GM to spawn you back to the plaza.

Not true. Talad fixed it a few weeks ago so you can jump down without killing yourself if you\'re clever, and you don\'t crash.

true, i figured it was a new entrance being developed. but cme on stick to noting how brilliant my idea is :D *feel the arrogants iradiating off my skin*

look at remvak. He thinks he\'s soo hot. Well your not and your idea wasnt all that good to begin with either. Respect the devs and moderators

...was that a joke or were you just being plain rude to me?
-
dont like it huh, sorta what you diid to the devs and mods
-
*sigh* looks like someones bein sour

WizardsRule, you had better start behaving, unless you want to be banned. There was no reason for you to come in this thread and trash it.
Just ignore him remvak. I have no idea what he means by \"what you diid to the devs and mods\" either.

It\'s ok Moogie, this guy is just pissed because of that last thread in wish list I started which basically turned into a big fight

Phew, glad it is! I\'m tired to be in the temple and everytime a player goes to the well I run behind him warning him \"NOOOOO!!! Don\'t Jump!!! Don\'t Jump!!!\" then explain and even though some jumped.

Respect other players, please. Ideas are welcome, or there wouldn\'t be a \"Wishlist\" board.
Anyway...
That can be used to promote/recruit. It depends in the guild, each guild leader/council has to decide that for themselves. I like my promotion system... It\'s a good idea for some guilds if they don\'t have a good promotion system.
The well in the temple looks like a sacrifice place or a waste deposit I always thought that :P

I think it would be useful for guilds that base rank on the ability to fight/survive/ work with others, it could also be kinda an itiation ritual thing for the religious guilds
-
Guilds being different in customs, idealogy, and purpose, should probably use different methods for determining rank-ups. Now guilds that focus around surviving or something similiar, that might be a good way. But for smith, thief, or bard ;) guilds might not find using the tunnels as a suitable test.
-
Of course!
The guild inviting/promoting depends on the guild each guild leader decides what\'s the best way. I saw a guild that to get in you had to beat the master in a duel (if someone beated me I wouldn\'t trust him/her that much, might turn against me and take the leaderance of the guild :P)
I\'m sure loads of newb guilds or those that were created with no purpose may find this way of recruiting/promoting very usefull Of course non-newb guilds may find this usefull too, because high HP it\'s a requirement in the guild.
