It has been 3 years since Crystal Blue was released and several versions have come and gone since. The final version is released as people rush to play the highly extensive game. Runescape has lost all its bussiness except for a few people like zezima(who has sold the account on ebay). The leading owners of Runescape crash down there coffee mugs and remark\" D** that Planeshift!\"

PS 3D has been out for 5 years,
PS project as a whole has been out for 11 years.
Where did you get this mysterious 3 year figure from??

RS won\'t go away any time soon. Who cares its not like rs is launching attcks at us. Anyways, the game doesnt suck, the community does.

no...as in like at the moment. ill check right now...there are currently over 65,000 people playing on the free version of rs2, and thats just the ammount of people playing right then, not counting the people signed off. And there are currently over 45,000 people playing in rs2 members worlds, also not counting the people signed off

The number of people doesn\'t make a game better or worse. The game its self does and the community. RS has the game part right and the community part\'s well... By far the worst community I have ever seen.
Now how bout this thread goes away and dies since it\'s a bunch of rs supporters arguing with rs haters.

I completely agree with you about the community of rs. I just get annoyed when people write wrong information about things. Not tryin to start a fight.

im dreading the day that hell hole goes down, all those players from rune scape
roaming the net! moving to new games
its like a zombie plague, mindless, after one thing, levels.
and it spreads too, they always make stuff, and then beg, new players come, see it happening and they join up! we must keep that game up and running.

what i really dont understand is why everyone is assuming that rs is going out of buisness. They are gaining hundreds of new players every week, coming out with new updates, and constantly upgrading the game. RS will more than likley stay around for a good long time. Some people quit, once they are high levels and get bored (i was level 77 when i quit or 76 or somin) but the majority will just give up on online gaming after they quit rs, since many of them think it is the only and best RPG on the net. So i really dont think that we have to worry about 3 mil people joining PS from RS in a day.

Seriosuly its like the purgatory that lost souls are stored in.. its a \"d3wd containment field\"
Also they update RS.. only in the P2P version.. not a SINGLE update has ever been for F2P... not EVER (unless it happened in the last month and i missed something)

uhhh well thats about the farthest thing from correct iv heard in a long time. RS has updated F2P many many times. About 3 or 4 months ago they added new quests and item, just last month they made some P2P items available to F2P people. And in the old days when RS first came out and there was only the one town of Lumbridge, i think they updated it just a little since then. like o i dunno...adding over 30 new areas, and many many more monsters to F2P. There is no way that you can say they have never updated F2P

IMO sp00nscape could have been something to consider playin\' if it hadn\'t t\'is p2p<->f2p thingy. It would even have been acceptable to have p2p and their tremendous boni on a different server than f2p. BUT, as it is now it\'s just a place where p2p snob kidies smash on f2pers because they pwn them and are r0x0r. Something what had pretty much more style in a game called Diablo.

Erm... O.o People keep telling me I was wrong when I said 5 years, earlier in this thread. I\'m not wrong. PS 3D started in 2000. Go and ask Talad yourself if you need proof, but I\'m telling you, it isn\'t 3 years, it\'s 5.

Ok i DID leave room that it happened recently and i missed it.. so apparently thats what happened :D good to see f2p expand a lil.. who knows.. I may actualy try RS again (pshhh.. just remembered d00d to people ratio XD )
Of course RS is a good game and i even LIKE the simple graphics.. but... the people that now inhabit most of takes away its old school immersion (yes its immersive.. i love this game 100%!!! i hate almost all the people who play it 150%.. so i basicaly hate it 50% ;( )
EDIT: oh what P2P part was made F2P? i am looking at the map and it doesnt look like anything has been unfenced?

RS from a gaming standpoint is average. You fight things, you gain levels, you get gold. Once in a while you complete quests for rewards of stat gains and useful items.
From a role-playing standpoint it is hideous. Many of the free-world players are what you would consider \"n00b\"s. Most of them do not comprehend the value of role play in an RPG. As a result Misthalin and her sister kingdoms aren\'t worlds to be conquered or explored, they are text on a JPEG.
At one time, the world of RS was significantly more tame: it had a stable economy, and players seemed more respectful of others. Small fan-sites popped up here and there and all was well.
After it grew in popularity, the forums of such fansites became home to elitist \"oldbies,\" holding the same hatred you all do for the now average RS player.
There was no official RS forum until about a year ago, and even now it remains a poorly maintained newsgroup-style BBS moderated by a few of the disgruntled ex-members of the elitist communities mentioned earlier. No real discussion exists there, only inquiries regarding the best locations to PK or train fishing.
RS will not go out of business anytime soon. It has been around about the same amount of time PS-3D has existed. It began humbly as a rather simple free-to-play Java-based RPG consisting of two towns and three levels of armor. (sound familiar, anyone?) Now it has three continents and thousands of avid fans.
There is no point in lowering yourselves to the level of the few RS players that apparently harassed this community some time ago. They do not represent the whole. Many older RS players find those sort of actions intolerable.
Players of RS will inevitably find PS, just as players of PS will happen upon RS, but that does not make players of either game inherently bad. To make such ludicrous assertions that the opposite is true is, in my opinion, absolutely absurd.

I say why not the people of PS just \"come down\" on a single server of RS and try the damnedest to subvertly make it somewhat RP? i mean there are \"RP RS!\" movements.. i mean we could be famous for \"de-n00bing\" roonscape (we seem to dislike d3ws.. why not attack the home colony? most people are only that way because they havent been taught differently and are only adapting to the enviroment to survive ive found.. also if even a small group gets a symbolence of order then the other RP RS people would take notice and help in that one serve.. it would at least be a foothold :rolleyes: )
Also my \"Bullshit Meter\" is going off on the f2p servers getting any expantion (they get some \"update\" i guess like some small tweaks but nothing worth much) so :/

Guess you missed the entire point of my post :rolleyes: its not to change the people who like to be \"ZMG PzL geiv me soem moenyy!!!\" just the new players to MMORPG period (RS is a first mmo for many people being free and simple) who dont know better and think that the previous quote is how mmoRPg is SUPPOST to be.
Also showing them OTHER ways to have fun (at level 99 RP is all thats left :P ) and perhaps make a small shift to maturity while we\'re at it

So this is a reason to maliciously attack another gaming community...? I suppose I don\'t quite see how you can automatically dictate how anything is supposed to be in another game. :)
There are plenty of those sort of \"n00b\"ish people all over our beloved Intarweb, not just any particular gaming community. More and more people are able to gain access to computers with an Internet connection than ever before, so you\'re bound to have a few numskulls out there. Those numskulls just happen to type like that and no amount of coercion (euphemism for brute force) is going to persuade them to type any differently.
If they happen to enter this community and continue typing in such a fashion, then we simply treat them as a pariah. That is IF they enter this community.
Remember: preemptive strikes are bad, kids!
