Is PS Tiger compatible or not ?
Thanks for answers :).

No idea - I build it in 10.2.8 and it seems to work for most 10.3 users, so hopefully it will also work in 10.4!
I\'d be interested in any reports to the contrary.

Speaking of which, it might be good to have a client built in 10.3 with newer tools. Ideally though it should be built on Tiger with 10.3 as the target OS, although I wouldn\'t recommend it for a couple of point releases as the early adopters find bugs.
Oh, and apparently Tiger support is a bit of an issue with a lot of games/api\'s so unfortunately you can\'t just assume things will work.

Please, I\'m a poor student who can\'t afford to upgrade. Let\'s keep it at 10.2.8...

As far as I know, the compiler used in 10.3 is gcc 3.3, which I am using in 10.2.8, so there shouldn\'t be a huge performance difference between building under 10.3 and 10.2. It\'d be interesting to see if gcc 4.0 makes a difference...

I\'ve installed gcc-4 and am having some problems with it. THere are some back-compatibility issues with Fortran 95 (not that anyone here cares about that... By the way g95 works fine)
After checking up, there are a large number of issues with ggc-4, so avoiding its use is probably best right now.
EDIT: gcc 3.3 is the standard with 10.3, you are correct, DFryer

I have just received the Tiger(OSX 10.4) and installed it. Planeshift runs on 10.4 as well as on 10.3. I haven\'t tested all graphic situations yet. It still quit with an error, but now there is a hole report. Could be useful in debugging.

Same here. PS runs fine under Tiger. No bugs that weren\'t already reported.
We just have to wait for the sound (I must say that *some* sounds can be heard, as when you hit somebody).

for me, PS actually works better in 10.4
When I was running 10.3, it would freeze up 2 minutes after getting into the game, and if I tried to run PS again, with a built character, they would randomly fall off the world and die, and freeze in the death realm, and then crash. Now, at least I get into the death realm, and can get into the game with my built characters.
The bad thing, is it still crashes... but now more like 5 minutes into it. A friend suggested installing portage and building PS in that, but it\'s far too much work for someone who isn\'t a programmer.
any other suggestions for making it work?
