I figure that a lot of people on this board are interested in game design and game design theory, theology, philosophy...etc.
I\'ll just post the interesting articles I find in this thread for you all to read...and discuss. It\'s kind of a hobby for me. :D
This weeks top article can be found here (http://www.gamedev.net/reference/design/features/genreaddict/). Have fun :)
[edit]Even more interesting for some of you may be this (http://www.planetgamecube.com/news.cfm?action=item&id=3602) article about people \"overdosing\" on games.

It\'s fairly interesting stuff, but my attention span runs out half way through.

At the moment I\'m reading \"Rules of Play\",
subtitle \"Game design fundamentals\",
672 pages,
by Katie Salen and Eric Zimmerman
(Look for it at mitpress.mit.edu)
This is truly fundamental and basic stuff, so I don\'t bother much reading/buying other stuff while I\'m not through it. Besides it systematic approach, it\'s quite entertaining.
I can only recommend it.

The Psychology Behind Games (http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20050426/hejdenberg_01.shtml)
The link is kind of self explanatory. I\'ll just add that the article mostly deals with what makes games enjoyable.
I think you have to register to see the article, but you can go to bugmenot.com to bypass that step.

Bummer, I thought this was going to be like and Economics or NET thread. Well, if you guys really want to know about Game Theory, try Gintis: Game Theory Evolving. It\'s pretty interesting and only needs some basic differential equations and linear algebra. The writing style if fluid and natural, but there aren\'t enought proofs.
Okay, I\'ll go away now.

Good reading,
Post more please.
