Title: Low FPS in the plaza?
Post by: T0rk on April 25, 2005, 09:16:42 pm
Just a suggestion to the newbies out there, after three days of playing the planeshift game I have always been anoyed by the extremely low fps in the plaza, I know I should upgrade my ram/graphics card but for now I just press M to get it into overhead view so all I see is my character and the ground, sure its hard to see where your going but if you ask me it is better than 5 fps.

::shakes head::

Wrong, wrong, wrong.  Besides, I don\'t want anyone staring at my big bald head.  Not even me!

A better way, at least for me, is to adjust detail distance in preferences.

I\'ve now added the Mac OSX interior bug graphic fix, and my plaza framerates are now fine, despite distance detail level.  It could have something to do with it, either that or my computer is possessed.

both are better than the solution I use on slow computers, I stay in first person and just stair at the ground when I move around the plaza.  lets just say I\'ve quickly learned what the lower edges of the walls around my preferred paths look like...
