Hi all!
I\'ve just installed the linux client from CVS. Installation was smooth. However, when I run psclient, there are only localhost and Laanx in the list of servers. I select Laanx, enter my username and password, and get the following message:
You are not running the correct version of Planeshift for this server.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried updating the game?
-
Yes, I run updater after compiling the sources, and ther was no problems.
-
Though I can\'t come up with links this time, this might get you in the correct direction:
Since you ahve compiled from source, the settings aren\'t up to date. Basically, the updater server isn\'t listed in the file the updater uses to locate the updates. Therefore, your updater will think everything is up to date because it cannot get the latest registry.
This might be the problem here. I read this on some thread, you\'ll probably be able to find it in a search though.

The problem also may be that your client version is too new to use on the current build of the server.
-
I have installed the sources for Gentoo, and followed the instructions at http://laanx.fragnetics.com/index.php?page=build_gentoo
I will try the binaries.

I can play with the binaries!
The only problem I have now is that the game restarts constantly. I can play more than five minutes.
I\'ll search in the forum.
