As you can see on the list of new things (http://www.planeshift.it) this is a known problem.
Greetings,

After i update it to new revision .
and now i can\'t start the game again;
It crashed;and also the pssetup can\'t be open
crashed.who can help me ?

I also seem to have the same problem, which isn\'t very annoying by itself but since I need to disable my sound in order to prevent the game to crash at change of background music it does pose a problem.
So I was wondering if there is another way I could disable my sound without having to open the setup? Perhaps even change some commands in a file or two if it isn\'t too complicated.
Thanks in advance.

Open your \"psclient.cfg\" file in notepad, or something. Find the lines:
;Sound renderer
System.PlugIns.iSoundRender = crystalspace.sound.render.software
Add a semiclolon to the begining of the second line and save.
As far as I know, this is the only line that needs to be disabled. (It worked fine for me) If anyone can correct me, please do.

I had a similar problem and Androgos had the following bit of advice:

open pssetup.cfg and change the following line:
System.PlugIns.iImageIO = crystalspace.graphic.image.io.multiplex
to
System.PlugIns.iImageIO = crystalspace.graphic.image.io.multiplexer
(add \'er\' to the end)
Save and try again
It worked for me :)

Well I found sound disabling is also possible the simple way .. just with your ingame options *smacks his own forehead*
Thanks for those tips though .. I \'m going to see if they fix the problem.

in planeshift.cfg
; ******************
; * User Config *
; ******************
; Width/height of CrystalSpace visual
Video.ScreenWidth = 1024
Video.ScreenHeight = 768
; Screen depth (currently supports 8, 15, 16, and 32 bits, NO 24 bits!)
Video.ScreenDepth = 32
; Use full-screen mode if available
Video.FullScreen = false
Set
Video.FullScreen = true
and you will have it
