Title: Warning Unknown () session side-effect
Post by: Felix Yellowhair on May 27, 2005, 03:14:51 pm
this may not  be the correct place for this but I do own a Imac with a
800 MhZ PowerPC G4 processor; 768 MB SDRAM and operating on
Mac OS X version 10.3.9.

For the first time I got the following message when getting on PS forums:

\"Warning: Unknown(): Your script possibly relies on a session side-effect which existed until PHP 4.2.3. Please be advised that the session extension does not consider global variables as a source of data, unless register_globals is enabled. You can disable this functionality and this warning by setting session.bug_compat_42 or session.bug_compat_warn to off, respectively. in Unknown on line 0\"

Maybe It is time to run Norton Systemworks on my drive or my internal
disk repairer.

Any thoughts.   Time now is 9:13 EST in state of NY.

Also when I hit the smily chart nothing seems to happen.

Felix.

It sounds like a Javascript error to me.  What browser are you using?

BTW, the forum records the time just fine.  You don\'t need to do that.

I\'m also on a mac, don\'t have the exact problem that Felix does, but sometimes the forums seem a little buggy to me. Also, the smilies don\'t work for me either.

I am using Netscape 7.1 since it said somewhere that it was the
preferred browser for PS.   I use Safari for most of my other applications.
When I use Safari for the forums, PS forums do not recognize me.

Well my smilies were working up to yesterday or before but not today.
